Re: World of warcraft - Ubuntu 10.4 - Ati Radeon ati 4650 HD 1gb
I know ATI is notoriously bad at supporting Linux but I was wondering how well this card works under Ubuntu. Does it support 3D rendering?

Re: [GIT PULL] devel/pat + devel/kms.fixes-0.5 on RV730 PRO [Radeon HD 4650] Issue resolved
.config from Ubuntu instance just copied over to F13 instance.
2.6.32.19 rebuilt on F13 with minimal initramfs and get 3D on F13.
I also made diff between .configs
Looks like CONFIG_DRM_RADEON=y caused a problem
should be =m.
CONFIG_DRM_RADEON_KMS=y to make modesetting on radeon by
default.

Build kernel 2.6.32.19 with
1. CONFIG_DRM_RADEON=y
2. Drivers->Staging Drivers-> Enable modesetting on radeon by default <*>
( otherwise KMS switches to userspace modesetting )
Whatever option like --add , --install i tried with dracut. initramfs been uncompressed

ATI mobility Radeon HD 5470
Hi , guys:
I have a new Acer laptop and I have installed CentOS 5.5 x86_64 bit.
The problem is that there is no driver for the ATI mobility radeon HD5470
and the graphic is so bad!
On amd-ati website I have found the catalyst driver version 10.2 butit seems
not to be the correct solution.
The current screen resolution is 1024x768, but my laptop is widescreen and
the best screen resolution

Hi,
I'm currently installing CentOS 7 on a client's Dell Inspiron laptop.
Here's the video card:

Most of the time, I either have to deal with Intel or NVidia graphic

Re: [GIT PULL] devel/pat + devel/kms.fixes-0.5 on RV730 PRO [Radeon HD 4650] Stack trace
Just surfing Net for 2-3 hr concerning "dracut" on Fedora 13.
Several "warnings" at the end of dmesg log. Seems like reaction
on some system events scheduled to run on regular basis, but not
user''s activity.

ATI Radeon 4250 in Dual Head Config?
My xorg.conf foo is pretty weak today.
Does anyone have an ATI 4250 in a dual head config? I'd be interested
in looking over your xorg.conf.
Sean
p.s. Mine at the moment, that doesn't work very well:

gpupdate use wrong url
I use bind on the same maschine as samba (bind_dlz). there is no
additional bind9 in my test network. the default gw (kvm host) do nat.
and bind of this network does know nothink about zone "foo".
I think that is a problem of the windows nslookup.
I installed bind nslookup on the PC just for test and this can resolve
"foo" and "foo."

[WoW + ATI HD 3850 + Hardy] Text problem
Hello,
I've update my Ubuntu Gutsy to Hardy (7.10 -> 8.04) and Wine 0.9.somthing to wine-1.0-rc4. I've the lastest ATI proprietary driver installed.
Before, I could run WoW without any problem in OpenGL except the buggy minimap when I entered in a closed area map (a tavern, or a cavern, etc.), the minimap became blank... (config: Gutsy, Wine 0.9.6, ATI Catalyst 8.1).
Now, when I

World of Warcraft - ATi 8.471
I just revived my LG laptop's Ubuntu install and have put the latest ATi driver on it. 3D acceleration works fine as does compiz.
I copied over WoW to test and right now, I have to have ffxGlow "0" in the config.wtf file to get the game to start (otherwise it throws up the blizz error report and terminates).
ffxGlow "0" causes rendering problems at the login screen, I

Radeon driver with HD 2600 pro and dual head
Hey list,
I got a problem with a Gigabyte radeon HD 2600 pro card regarding my multi head setup with . This card has two DVI connectors. The second monitor has the state of being disconnected after startup (xrandr -q). When I disconnect it and reconnect sometimes the screen comes up and the second monitor shows up in display settings.
It doesn't matter which port of the card I use first -
