Hey guys, I'm running ubuntu 10.04 on wine 1.2-rc3 on a Asus G73JH Laptop. Ive gotten steam and l4d2 to install and I can run both, but while in game with l4d2, it runs okay at certain points but then studders/slows down when the action ramps up. Is there anything I can do to improve the performance so its more playable? Thanks for the help.

I am trying to run a 2d overhead ultima type game through wine but have some problems. At one point it would run but would refresh the slides of the pictures about once every 5-8 secs and then crash after about a minute or so. I am new to Wine and learning. I have a general problem that happens with multiple applications and installers - the icons in menus are oddly corrupted. If I select one, they will change to some other corruption. (See screen grabs.) Ok I am using Wine 0.9.8 (if I use anything later than than I get seg faults). Now as you can see in the screenshots, I cannot display the texts - number 2 shot should display menu buttons which can be clicked to "Start New Game" "Options" "Save a Game", but these do not display. hello, I recently installed wow the eu trial version the install went fine. However when the game started the grahics were weird the floor was see through .
