gdi32.dll error
Hello,
I encounter the same problem on MacOSX 10.5.6, either using X11
supplied with Leopard, or X11 2.3.3.2 (XQuartz) and Xcode 3.1.2. It
appears using Darwine 1.1.21 from Kronenberg, Darwine 1.1.7 from
thisismyinter.net, or the lastest wine-1.1.21, compiled from source.
The only way to use wine is to installed wine stable from MacPorts or
the Kronenberg's 1.1.21. Hardly, it

gdi32.dll error
I am a new wine user. I downloaded the darwin wine implementation for mac OS X ver 1.1.7 (http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/) and installed on my computer.
I run the wine helper application and tried to open some of the sample applications that came with it. No matter what I try to open from the sample windows application folder that came with the program I get the same error

Darwine issues
I am trying to use darwine 1.1.7 on 10.5.5 and am having issues. I downloaded the package from thisismyinter.net and is doesn't run anything, including the sample winelib applications. However, when I use the version from http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/ it runs just fine. I have XQuartz 2.3.1 as well. This started recently, I can't remember what did it. Here is a link to the output when

How do you fix that gdi32.dll error?
Hi, I'm Sam, I'm new to the mail list (and mailing lists in general) -
sorry for any basic mistakes I make!
I basically a noob when it comes to compiling things, and a beginner
at the command line. I think I messed a couple of things up, and was
wondering if anyone knew how I could fix any of them.
The story so far:
I had one of the old Darwine builds working ok with a couple apps,

Re: Window Scrolling on OSX
I suppose Zach Drayer makes the Darwine version from thisismyinter.net. I tried his version 1.1.3, and it broke my Wine, so have gone back to 1.1.1.
Hopefully the next build by either can fix OpenGL as well. I read it can't compile because of a dependancy on an XQuartz library which is too old in the current version. XQuartz 2.3.1 is also overdue. Maybe Kronenberg is waiting on them, too. It

Noob problems with Darwine
I've installed darwine 1.1.9 on my mac. I've read all of the tutorials and forums that I could find but I'm still not able to solve my problem. I imagine I must be missing something that's so obvious that it doesn't even make its way into a tutorial.
I can't run programs. If I start winehelper and try to run a program (say regedit.exe) I get the errors at the end of

FIFA09 Error in DarWine
Hi I'm using DarWine, the Kronenberg package and I've tried to install FIFA09.
I did everything as instructed, typed in my cd-key, had it install in the C Drive.
After installation though, I couldn't find the FIFA09 nor the EA Sports folder anywhere. There was, though, a shortcut on my desktop. Upon running the application from the shortcut, I got a message saying "FIFA09.exe

Re: gdi32.dll error
I have tested the wine builds from both Mike and Zach, as well as as my own compile, and all are broken with the gdi32.dll initialization failure error. I believe the problem appeared from the 10.5.5 update or the Quicktime update shortly before that, because all builds worked fine before those two updates. I think that something inside the system has changed, which is causing the problems. When I

Mac Wine.app Launcher
Hey,
I'm running Wine 1.1 on OS-X Leopard, and am trying to figure out how to tell Finder to open all files with a .exe extension to open with Wine. The only way I can think of is to create a new .app folder with just enough information to link to the actual Wine executable.
I took apart the .app package of jEdit and replaced all references to jEdit with ones for Wine, then symlinked the

Firefox 3 Darwine Errors
Just completed a fresh install of Darwine 1.0b and Xquartz to fix some application issues and discovered when I downloaded and installed the Windows version of Firefox I get the following series of errors. This is a partial log since the errors just continue as long as Firefox is open until either WineHelper crashes or Firefox crashes. I have manually downloaded Flash from the adobe site, it

Darwine: Running an SDL game
Hi all
I'm trying to play the game "BOH" (http://www.bohthegame.com/) on OS X using Darwine. I downloaded 1.1.19 and dragged the Darwine folder to /Applications. Then I opened the BOH installer using WineHelper and installed the game. For some reason it put the installed files inside the WineHelper application bundle. When I tried to open the game's executable using WineHelper,

(Dar)Wine and The Bat!
Greetings,
I'm trying to run The Bat! (email client by RITlabs) on Mac OS X 10.5.7 with the most current XQuartz installed.
I compiled Wine 1.1.22 using MacPorts and confirmed it is working for simple Windows applications. (Btw, is this Wine or Darwine, since MacPorts seems to download and compile the official Wine sources?)
After installing The Bat!, it starts up and immediately quits with

Screen goes white while playing WonderKing
Hello,
I'm having difficulties running WonderKing (http://wonderking.ndoorsgames.com/center/default.asp) on an Intel Mac version 10.5.8 using Wine 1.1.35.
I was able to download and install both programs successfully, but when I run WonderKing, I'm able to get to the first screen where you can check to see if you have all the files needed to run the game (I have all of them), change from

Helpful Hints for OS X Users (Idiots Guide?)
Hello,
I have been busy working away at getting Darwine to run on OS X with no luck... I tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times, but I was continually getting gdi32.dll errors.
This guide was tested on OS X Leopard 1.5.6. The following guide is how I set it up. The steps may vary slightly for you. Be sure to read this whole thread before actually trying some of the things listed here,

Wine Mac OSX Questions
So I have an Intel Mac and I'd like to run a couple Windows apps on it. I looked in the Mac OSX working programs wiki, but it doesn't have any of the programs I want to use listed. I checked AppDB, but it doesn't have Mac tests for any of them listed either. I was wondering if anyone has had experiences with MS Office 2003 or 2007 or Steam on Mac OSX (Leopard) with Wine. Thanks.

Re: Window Scrolling on OSX
Thanks for working on it regardless, all these compiling issues are beyond most of us. Everything is "easy" or "manageable" to fix as long as you know how! I don't know if it's available via Macports, but I imagine Darwine is rather tweaked for the Mac beyond merely being a straight port, I don't know if Macports would throw up similar compiler issues.

Issues with Wine and Star Wars Galaxies
Having some issues getting Galaxies to launch, I can get other programs within Wine to launch like tvants and other basic programs. I'm using Wine 1.1.7 on Mac OSX 10.5.6 with X11 updated to 2.3.3 and Darwine 1.1.9.
When I got to launch Galaxies all I get is a terminal page full of errors. I notice Wine is deferring a lot dlls and I don't know if this is the cause of it or not. It also
