Doveadmn Quota
Hey Everyone, I am running the new Dovecot 2.0 RC2. When I try to run 'doveadm quota recalc -A' I just get the usage info for doveadm. Running 'doveadm help quota' gives me the man page for the quota command, and I follow the man page examples as is. Is this feature not implemented yet? Or am I doing something wrong? I know quota is a "plugin" for the doveadm program,

Dovecot 1.2.x passwd and shadow auth w/ PAM
I'm trying to get authentication to work without PAM and just use the standard shadow and passwd files. auth default { userdb passwd { } passdb shadow { } } This seems to be valid code to use /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. My linux distro is using Salted MD5. Though Dovecot keeps telling me that authentication failed. It doesn't give me any error messages regarding the config. Any

I am trying to use Mike Meyers A+ CD that came with his new book on the 701 and 702 exams but I'm pretty new to wine and not sure about the configuration settings that may be blocking me from properly running the application. Metaswitch to Asterisk problems
I am setting up VM off Metaswitch due to a problem with Metaswitch VM. I have a couple days to prove this works and I need a little assist please. I am using TRIXBOX 2.6.2.5 and have the Meta SIP trunk up. I have extensions built that can talk to each other. I took a trace on the TRIXBOX that shows when I dial my test phone on Metaswitch it goes to VM after a couple rings and the call goes to my

Fwd: Export cd's without mounting them. samba vfs module using gnu's libcdio
Hi, Sorry about posting to both lists, but I didn't get any feedback from samba-technical. I'm developing a vfs module that allows CDs to behave in a more "Windows" like fashion. If anyone out there cares about the ability to export cds without mounting them, please try this out and let me know what you think, if it works for you, whats wrong with my code, etc. Thanks, Dan

Samba exporting CD's without mounting via libcdio.
Version 0.2.0 of my code to export CDs using libcdio rather than mounting the filesystem is on my website at: http://ontologistics.net/OpenSource/Samba/index.php This code allows you to pop CDs in and out of the drive without worrying about mounting and unmounting. There are many enhancements/bugfixes that might make it more usable than version 0.1.0. Please try it out and let me know if it

Help installing software with multiple cd's
I have been trying to install several games, and all of the ones that have more than one disk fail, one way or another, at the point of changing cd's. Some (doom3) just quit [there exists an alternative plan for doom3], and others (Baldur's Gate-SoA) lock up the cd and won't let go. The only way to get the cd out is to kill the installer. I found the instructions on WineHQ, which say

OT: long - Replacing CD's? was RE: New type of copy-prot ected audio CDs are coming...
It won't be long until big labels attempt to eliminate the digital ins and outs of equipment. The problem they face is most people that currently use a rack system featuring digital interconnects will NEVER revert to an analog only system. I know that I won't! Think back to VHS, BetaMax, SVHS and LaserDisc. VHS has incredible market share because its licensing is open. Betamax was

TC Output Redirection
Ok, this is a rather large annoyance... How do you redirect the error output for TC? It does not seem to use any of the standard file descriptors (like STDOUT or STDERR) for error output. I have tried: tc <blah> 2>&1 1>/dev/null tc <blah> 3>&1 2>&1 1>/dev/null etc No matter what I do, I cannot seem to redirect the output. Anyone have any suggestions?

are there reference lists/cheat sheets for categorized commands?
prepping to teach a 5-day CompTIA linux+ course next week with CompTIA-supplied courseware and, given that it was my choice, i chose to set up the classroom with centos 7.4 on all the student systems since i assume most students are there to learn sysadmin and that's the most likely platform they'll have when they get back to work. also, most students are taking this course to prep for the
