how to restore deleted directory/files
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. The file system type is xfs. And I found xfsdump/xfsrestore can undo the remove.
I use dd to copy the partition as one image file. How do I mount the image as read-only device? Then I can try to recover the deleted files/directory anytime.
Thanks!
Regards
Andrew

I have in /home/john/Documents the rpm file 'wine-20040914-mdk.i586.rpm'
changing to 'su' will permit the installation of the package by using
rpm -iv wine-20040914-mdk.i586.rpm
I know that by using the command 'winhelp' the directory /home/john/.wine will
be created.
I forgot how I happen to know this. What document source would tell me that I

Manuel

That is what I wrote the anytime package for: effortless automatic

fail-safe boot - how can this be done?
I'm installing syslinux on an embedded board that will only be reachable via boat+hike or helicopter. This will be a somewhat experimental platform, so I can't make a read-only filesystem on CF. What I'd like is to have two root filesystems on a CF card, one that is a read-only "fail-safe", and a 2nd that is the "normal" system I experiment with. What I'm

Early CSE clobbering llvm.assume
Yeah, that change is completely unrelated, that is about correctness, this
is about optimization.
I'm working on a proposal to just fix assume at some point to deal with the
former issue.
The problem with this testcase is that all the ways assume is propagate
expect the variable in the assume to later be used.

Inverse Matrices
I have a problem with finding the inverse of a matrix. I have a square
9x9 matrix, A, and when I do solve(A) to find the inverse I get the
following error message:
Error in solve.default(A) : singular matrix `a' in solve
Has anybody got any ideas as to why this is happening?
Thanks

Weatherscope mouse button issues
Hi,
Can anyone help me diagnose some issues with mouse button events in
Weatherscope? (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3077) It's a
really annoying bug, as anytime you right click on an entry to open the
properties dialog, when the dialog opens, the program thinks you are
still holding down the mouse button. This triggers the
drag-and-dropping support to reorder items, instead

mUTF-7 vs UTF-8 in mailbox names
(This is about v1.2 only, v1.1 will stay as it is.)
Until today Dovecot didn't care about mailbox names. IMAP RFC requires
them to be modified-UTF-7, but Dovecot didn't try to enforce it in any
way.
Mailbox names in Sieve scripts should be UTF-8, but currently Dovecot
doesn't translate them to mUTF-7 as it should. Cyrus also did this until
the latest release (v2.3.13).
Now that I
