How do I install the DirectX-patch from Transgaming? I run the Wine that came with Mandrake 7.2. I've tried to run the patches in all the folders that has something to do with wine. Hi, I'm trying to install the game "Aquanox" under Wine which needs DirectX 8.0. I've found a mail in the wine mailing list archive stating that wine already includes DirectX, but Aquanox keeps complaining about a missing d3d8.dll. When I try to play Pharaoh (and sometimes Caesar 3) my screen becomes black and the only thing to do is Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. I think Wine is still running but the game has just stopped. Hi, Sorry to bug people with this what must be a very trivial question. I've got a Mandrake 8.0 installation and have been trying in vain to get CodeWeavers Wine (preview #3) installed. I've downloaded and installed the 'blessed' version of itcl from the CodeWeaver's website (itcl-8.3.2-7mdk.i586.rpm) and am still getting the itcl not found error when I try to run winesetup.

Has anyone ever managed to get this to run in wine, with no windows, on a clean linux installation? If so, please enlighten a newbie on how it was done. Thanks Miran

This worked with: Wine CVS from Jan 29th + Transgaming patch XFree 4.0.2 NVidia drivers 0.9.6 Had to turn off DGA, and force wine to manage created windows, otherwise I get a glXMakeCurrent error when it tries to set the current GLX rendering context.
