Hi, Sorry to bug people with this what must be a very trivial question. I've got a Mandrake 8.0 installation and have been trying in vain to get CodeWeavers Wine (preview #3) installed. I've downloaded and installed the 'blessed' version of itcl from the CodeWeaver's website (itcl-8.3.2-7mdk.i586.rpm) and am still getting the itcl not found error when I try to run winesetup.

hello, I am trying configure codeweavers wine 20010112-1. I can't find wine.conf anywhere on my disk, and when I run winesetup I get the message that global wine configuration under superuser are not supported yet.. any resolution? thanks, ishay

When I try to execute: wine "sol.exe" it gives this error: ----- wine: could not exec wineserver ----- My system is: SuSE 7.0 (if I'tm not mistaken: glibc 2.1?) codeweavers-wine-20010305-1.i386.rpm itcl-3.1.0-79.i386.rpm win98 on other partition I already added /opt/wine/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf; this solved a previous problem. I noticed a distribution for 7.2 & 8.0 but not 7.3. Download and installation of the 7.2 version appears to go fine - until i give the command wine -v I do understand there is not a config file with the distribution. However when i start wine -v and take the option to setup config it fails twith a message can't find package Itcl and also says the config file does not exist.

I am trying to install the Codeweavers version of wine (pre-release 2) and I am having problems. When I try to install (using rpm), I get the message "installing package codeweavers-wine-20010112-1 needs 7Mb on the / filesystem". My / filesystem is not overly large, but I still have approx 60Mb available on /. Is the error stating that the install requires 7Mb on /, or it needs 7Mb more

I try to install Codeweavers wine, but it won't work. I have "wine" as an unsatisfied depency, but I do have wine installed. I have Linux-mandrake 8.0 standard, wine v. 20010305, 80 meg memory, 8 gig hd, 200 mhz pentium MMX.

I keep hearing that Ian Schmidt figured out how to get Word 2000 to work under Wine. Well, his domain comes up unknown and all references I have seen on this subject hyperlink to his defunct URL. Has anyone out there got Word 2000 installed on W2K to work under wine? I'm using FreeBSD Codeweaver port but any success from anyone be it Red Hat, Mandrake, etc would be appreciated.
