Expresscard Wireless
I bought a laptop with no PCMCIA slot, just expresscard. Instead of
using a usb dongle for wireless, I would like to use an expresscard if
possible. Ubiquiti makes one that uses atheros chip.
Has anyone successfully used an expresscard wifi card in FreeBSD? Any
info?
Thanks

Laptop SCSI capability supported by CentOS 7
I'm looking for a well-supported ExpressCard or PCMCIA/CardBus SCSI card
that can do at least FastSCSI (Narrow, Wide not necessary) that is
supported by CentOS 7. I have an Adaptec SlimSCSI 1460D, but it doesn't
seem to be supported (it's previously supported by the aha152x driver).
Any ideas are welcomed, other than 'just use a desktop.' I am not sure

HotPlug, eSATA, and /media
Ok, got a quickie.
I have an eSATA drive, a 750GB Seagate in an eSATA external enclosure, and a
Silicon Image sil3132 ExpressCard controller for my laptop. The disk and
controller work great in CentOS 5 (or F7, for that matter), if I specifically
mount it.
This is not how I want to have to use this drive, however. I want to hotplug
it; that is, plug the controller into the laptop, and then

Dell Latitude E6410 and BIOS drive ordering
I'm posting as an FYI.
I was testing BIOS A04 with a UFD (USB Flash Drive) but it probably
applies to everything that looks like a USB hard drive. My previous
statement was partially incorrect as I did find a scenario to the
contrary.
I tried with FDD then CD at the top of the list and tried with both
just disabled (without reordering first). I tried with the SATA
controller in ATA, AHCI

Nouveau nullptr on NVIDIA NVA8
Starting with the drm merge af3c8d98508d37541d4bf57f13a984a7f73a328c for
4.13-rc1, the NVidia NVS3100M display on Dell Latitude E6410 had a
nullptr crash on startup. As a result later the suspend2ram was locking
up. Traced to a null ptr in nv50_mstm_service(), which seems to be
called only from
nouveau_connector_hotplug().
Fixed by checking if mstm is not NULL before calling the service

Failure reporting (mixed feelings)
Hi there,
?
As suggested on the samba wiki, I like to report failures using samba4.
?
Story:
I had setup a general Office environment using samba4 (2 servers) with AD intergrated DNS (samba internal), Zarafa mail server (Prof.), ISC dhcp with split-scope and file shares (users, profiles, data and application) for a test-case environment.? Plan was to deploy this setup for a customer? (small 25

WRT54GP2 SIP server on LAN port
Hi,
I'm trying to set up Asterisk behind my WRT54GP2 router that has a
intergrated ATA box.
My box are not locked in any way so I can access and change all settings.
Now to the problem...
I have gotten Asterisk to register with my provider and everything works
just well..
Now it's time to get the intergrated ATA to connect to asterisk.
But the asterisk box in located on the LAN ports of

IP PHONE with chip PA1688 and IAX2 Authentication
Dear All,
I bought one IP PHONE from Integrated Networks which was showed to wiki too:
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Intergrated-Networks

all paramters seems to be correct.

Any CMS for Ruby on Rails..
Well i want to make a photography community site on the lines of
www.gfxartist.com , www.terminus1525.ca, www.phirebrush.com
Where the community votes for every subbmission from a artist and can
comment (like a forum)..
Now gfxartist has used probably SMARTY,php, and their own CMS.
terminus used Drupal,Gallery 2.Some one tells me that this combo is
heavy on resources and slows down sites.

XP client printing junk to printers installed using print$ share
Hi all,
I have installed samba server and pritners. Instead having to put drivers
to all clients, I decided to use the print$ share, so that, as I read, I can
also make use of printing accounting.
I did all the requird steps to install the pritner on my FC4 system, put all
the required driver files to the print$ share, added the driver files to
samba (npcclient adddriver) , verified samba can

Email/GroupWare Suite
Just wanted to get some thoughts from the list.....
We are a public k-12 school and are looking to migrate to a groupware
style system for out staff to collaborate better. Currently we are using
Squirrelmail/postfix for email. Does anyone have any
recommendations/opinions. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Couple of questions about ZFS on laptops
Hello all,
I am thinking about a new laptop. I see that there are
a number of higher-performance models (incidenatlly, they
are also marketed as "gamer" ones) which offer two SATA
2.5" bays and an SD flash card slot. Vendors usually
position the two-HDD bay part as either "get lots of
capacity with RAID0 over two HDDs, or get some capacity
and some performance by mixing one

I believe that you it did not understand my explanation. I have a Linux server executing samba intergrated with a server windows 2003 (PDC). Linux is using the users of windows 2003 saw winbind. But, the permissions for these of archive do not function. When I try to change the permissions of an archive in the sharing of the samba, it I do not function. The part of ACL of the samba is not

Video Editing
This is kind of a new area for me so I thought I would get the lists opinion.
I have a avi video that I need to edit. The main thing that I need to
accomplish is to maybe cut the top 1/3 of the frame and blur out a few
faces. What would you guys recommend for an app that would accomplish
this? Thanks in advance for any info.

What's the difference between the Jabber Client Mode And Component Mode?
Hi All,
I am doing some research on the intergration of Jabber and Asterisk.
I have tried Jabber Client Mode. It's cool and works fine.
But there's few information on the Component Mode.
What's the difference between these two mode?
I finished the configuration on jabber.conf and I am using openfire.
What shall I do in the openfire to make them intergrated?
Looks forward to your
