upds crash with 'Out of memory'
Hello,
I am trying to get nut running on a Windows 2012 R2 server (x64). I am
using the MSI release of 2.6.5-3. The attached UPS is an APC xs1500 (model
bx1500g). The connection is an RJ45 to USB cable.
Here is my ups.conf:
[xs1500]
driver = usbhid-ups
port = auto
desc = "APC Back-UPS xs1500"
The problem I am encountering is upsd crashing with an 'Out of memory'
error. I can

Re: [nut-commits] svn commit r731
Hi Arjen,
in server/upsd.c r731, you moved the call conf_load() from after
check_perms() (~ l.1020) to before setupsignals() (~ l.989).
The problem is that conf_load() needs to open the ups driver socket,
and it assumes that STATEPATH is the current working directory. The
directory is only set in l.1016. Therefore, the first attempt to open
a socket will always fail. From the user's point of

I am not sure why they are not listed on the main download page, but there are actually three Windows MSI releases after that:

Hello guys,
Please help me to resolve the issue.
I bought 'SVEN Power Pro+ 500 USB' UPS few days ago and tried to setup
NUT 2.6.0 to work with it.
blazer_ups driver doesn't recognize the UPS :(
The Manufacturer provides 'PowerD' software for linux with
installation instractions on a CD (see example below).

Getting 'Data stale' error with bcmxcp_usb for a PowerWare 5115 on OSX
Good evening,
I tried getting this to work a couple years back but didn't have
enough time to do all the debugging that was needed (apologies
to the devs who tried to help at that time). It's working much
better now, but I'm still not able to get an answer from upsc.
Can anyone help me work out why I'm getting the error when
querying with upsc:

MGE Nova AVR 600 USB on FreeBSD
Hi,
I've seen a few emails in the archives about problems polling MGE UPSs
via USB under FreeBSD, but unfortunately I didn't find a solution in
them that works for me.
A few details about my setup.. The UPS is a MGE Nova AVR 600 connected
via USB to a FreeBSD 6.2 box. I have tried both the nut port (2.0.5)
and the svn trunk but have had no success yet. I am running nut as

Troubles with Mac clients
Hello.
At a customer's site I had:
_ Windows 2008 DC;
_ Samba 4.8 fileserver on FreeBSD 11.3/amd64 on UFS;
_ several Windows and Mac clients.
Recently, having to move to Samba 4.10, I decided to bring up a new
fileserver in a jail (and let the base 4.8 one die after transferring
all shares).
I have no problems with Windows clients, but several strange things are
happening with Macs.

Cannot rename directory - Samba acting two different ways on identical systems
Ubuntu Samba server running Version 3.4.0
Most windows and OS X clients connect with no issues. Permissions are working correctly on shares and umask settings are working on Window 7, OS X, and XP.
The annoying mystery here is that these little bugs are annoying users and taking up precious time... Most recently, Mac1 (OS X 10.6.5 smb Version 3.0.28a-apple) is able to change a directory's

nobody owned smbd processes are not ending
I am running the latest release of Samba on RH8 (2.2.7-5.8.0). I use it
primarily to provide master browse functionality, and to act as a print
server (using CUPS 1.1.17-0.2).
I am watching a TOP session, after printing from a W2K workstation. (I
restarted Samba before I did this). There is now one smbd processed
owned by nobody, which is not ending (and the print has completed). In
my
