Hi,
i got a server that is massivly contacted on the ports 5190, 5150 and 6667.
Is there any possibility to stop these requests ?

My nut-snmp has forgotten how to speak IETF RFC1628!
[I had a look through the mail archives before sending this, but I
didn't find anyone else having this issue.]
Has anyone seen this before? I'm almost 100% certain I tested this
nut correctly detected OB LB in the past, but when I happened to look
at it today, I see it refusing to work -- apparently because the NUT
client knows how to ask for RFC1628 OIDs, but not what to do with the

ruby-ldap crashing WEBrick server
We are trying to use Ruby-ldap 0.9.4 with Ruby 1.84 on Rails 1.1.2. All
is running on top of Solaris 2.8.
The overall setup works fine for doing other things like access an
Oracle DB, and displaying items. When it comes to using Ruby-ldap
though, it is quite a different matter. We''ve tried using Ruby-ldap
within irb, and all seems well. The basic scenario is:

OT Mexican domains?
Hola!
In case there are some mexican readers here...
It is little difficult for an english speaker to find information
about mexican domains. Is it possible to register a domain like
"fiesta.mx"? I have seen sites selling ".com.mx" and similar but not
just ".mx".
Thanks,
Peter

New User Questions - With Belkin USB
Thanks Roger for all your help here. I hope the 2 attachments come
through. The .sh is my doctored version of the script and the .report is
its output. I welcome any suggestions or ideas about what might be
causing my problems with monitoring to the Belkin UPS. Cheers

compatibility with Tripps SMART/OMNI/OMNISMART ?
I've having trouble understanding the NUT compatibility page.
Is it compatible with the OMNISMART300? Or the OMNI900LCD?
The compatibility page said for instance
SMART550 -- tripplite_usb
SmartUPS -- tripplite
OMNI650LCD -- usbhid_ups
so I'm not sure if an OMNISMART300 is like a Smart, or a SMART, or an OMNI,
or even if it's supported at all.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Belkin USB UPS Not Turning Off
Well it is the season for storms and power outages here in the US PNW. I
noticed that today when the power went out, NUT mostly did what I
hoped/wanted. But it did not actually turn off the UPS at all. The UPS
kept beeping and I had to turn it off manually.
I thought that NUT would handle this. But perhaps it cannot for my unit?
Or perhaps I have things improperly configured? Any suggestions?

New improved version of nut-report script
Hi Roger and thanks! I have attached my nut report from the new script
(sans journal). I saw nothing that looked like a problem with the report
save the sections <scriptname> "Cannot access <scriptname>. Perhaps this
is from the missing journal?

help with winbugs glm
Hi,
I am running a model with count data and one categorical predictor (simple
model for me to understand it fully), I did in R a glm like this:
glm(Recruitment~Depth, family=poisson). I get the coefficientes and
confidence intervals and all is ok. But then I want to do the same model
with Bayesian stats, here is my code:
model

Hate to say that we're running out of options. I had a CentOS 7 system
similar to yours, with LDAP authentication. I added three lines to
sssd.conf (for access provider, etc), restarted sssd, and

Write to NT Share from Unix, possible ?
Hi All,
we have been using OMNI-NFS software to share a PC share out to a Unix bos.
The Unix box places files on the PC, but the OMNI-NFS software keeps
crashing and occasionally will not restart at all even after rebooting the
machine and performing ChkDsk/Scandisks.
We would like to replace this with something else, anybody know if Samba can
help here?

Folders don't show up
Hello,
I've upgraded to the new LTS version of Ubuntu. With that comes a new
dovecot version. I think I've migrated my dovecot configuration
correctly to the new version. Everything works, except that the
mailboxes don't show up in the list of mailboxes in my mail clients.
Trying to issue a LIST command, I see the following:

Printing with CUPS
I've just been trying to get my Samba 3.0.0-2 build to work with CUPS.
The rpm I downloaded from the Samba site was not compiled with CUPS library
support. Which is why I am assuming that having added printing = cups in my
conf file things are not working.
If I use the source rpm can I force the build to include CUPS library
support ?
Or do I have to build from scratch?
thanks

Agents log in afterhours
Hi all,
I received a report of a client which stated that two of its agents are
?logging in? to the queues when they actually aren?t there working. They
appeared to be logged on all night. They thought they weren?t logging off
correctly, but they checked one of them and he was following the procedure.
Any ideas of what can be happening? Is there a way to prevent logins to
queues afterhours?
