[Nut-upsuser] compatibility with Tripps SMART/OMNI/OMNISMART ?
I've having trouble understanding the NUT compatibility page. Is it compatible with the OMNISMART300? Or the OMNI900LCD? The compatibility page said for instance SMART550 -- tripplite_usb SmartUPS -- tripplite OMNI650LCD -- usbhid_ups so I'm not sure if an OMNISMART300 is like a Smart, or a SMART, or an OMNI, or even if it's supported at all. Thanks in advance for any help! -- Lucian

Or the OMNI900LCD?I believe the OMNI900LCD is also supported by the usbhid-ups driver, but if you haven't seen any email messages on the list about the OMNISMART300, then we probably haven't run across it yet. Tripp Lite has a habit of changing hardware without changing the model name, so the best thing to do is try the drivers. What would also be helpful is sending some info about the device - does it have USB ports, serial ports, etc.? What does lsusb say if the USB port is plugged in?> The compatibility page said for instance > SMART550 -- tripplite_usb > SmartUPS -- tripplite > OMNI650LCD -- usbhid_ups > so I'm not sure if an OMNISMART300 is like a Smart, or a SMART, or an OMNI, > or even if it's supported at all.-- - Charles Lepple

That rules out the 'tripplite' driver, since this is for a serial (RS232) interface. It seems to be a current model, so I would try the 'usbhid-ups' first (note that you may have to specify the productid, see 'man 8 usbhid-ups' how to do that). As Charles also wrote, the output of 'lsusb' may be useful if you need more help. Best regards, Arjen -- Eindhoven - The Netherlands Key fingerprint - 66 4E 03 2C 9D B5 CB 9B 7A FE 7E C1 EE 88 BC 57
