similar to: Display something on the top line of Polycom SPIP 3.1 screen

Has any one ever worked with placing idle display images onto the Polycom SPIP331 phones? I have got it working but when the image is displayed the clock is moved to the top of the screen. That is great but it scrolls between the clock and the registered extension(s) . Has anyone figured out a way to stop the scrolling and just display the time? If so could you provide me the configuration

How difficult is it to change the firmware load on a Polycom phone from MGCP to SIP? I have a number of 500/600 phones and see some used phones being offered with MGCP installed. I've got a couple Shoreline IP phones, their Shoreline model number is Shoreline IP 100. I believe this is actually a Polycom SoundPoint IP 300 phone. I believe the phone is using a MGCP stack. I know that this phone will not do sip as it has limited memory, however has anyone been successful getting it to work with mgcp/h323? I mistakenly bought one of these thinking it was a 500 (description noted the 500 documentation). Anyway... just hoping I didn't blow $150 and that I can at least get it to work sean

Hi, My phones stopped auto-answering when being paged, since I moved on to Polycom firmware 3.3.0 (3.3.1 is the same, I tried). That is with Asterisk 1.6.2.16. I looked at the wiki but nothing I try there works, even if I cut and paste the same setup. Any one has any idea of what I should change from my old 3.2.3 setup? The phone can access the FTP server, and downloads the IP500/600 configuration files, but claims that the sip.ld file is larger than its file system. The only thing I have noticed is that when I have 2 line keys with 2 different labels, it only shows the last "...XXX" where XXX are the last 3 characters of the description. I have a customer who wants the Polycoms to display the CallerID name of the person they called on the phone they are calling from. The receiving phone gets CID just fine, but the calling phone doesn't display a name. For instance, if you dialed extension 3000, the Polycom Displays "3000(3000)" Instead of "John Doe (3000)".
