Polycom Shared Call Appearance
Has anyone got Polycom Shared Call Appearance working with
Asterisk ?
If Asterisk doesn't support this, I am willing to put up a
bounty of 1000 to get it to work.

Asterisk support Shared Call Appearance Signaling?
The Polycom 600 supports Shared Call Appearance Signaling. The Polycom
documentation states:
"Incoming calls can be presented to multiple phones simultaneously.
This feature is dependent on support from a SIP server which binds the
appearances together logically and looks after the necessary state
notifications and performs an access control function."

MWI not working on Polycom Phones
Hi All -
I'm running version SIP version 1.3.4 on various IP300, IP500, and
IP600 Polycom phones. I'm having a tough time with MWI. I thought I
remembered somebody on the list saying that they had it working, but I
can't find it in the archives now. I have all the phones configured
for MWI as specified in the WIKI:
ipdmid.cfg:

Polycom 600 problem
Andrei,
Do you have X-Windows running on the linux box? I had a similar issue
that was eliminated when I stopped this process and samba from running.
Now samba is only allowed to come up during non-business hours, for
changing BG music.
Also, make sure your registration period in either (polycom) ipmd.cfg or
sip.cfg is set to be at least the default 3600 time period. I also
removed the

Continuance on Polycom issue, not ringing
Ok, so I emailed the list earlier about my polycom phone not ringing
when anyone called in. Well, polycom support said that is impossible
that this could happen because of a change in a configuration file.
However the new phone arrived today (a refurb.) and it also would not
ring. So I obviously got rather frustrated and blasted away all of my
configuration files from the FTP server. I then copied

Polycom 500, won't ring??
Hi, I have was testing some of the different ring types with my polycom
500, and the ALERT_INFO settings. Now when my phone receives a call it
won't ring. All the other phones ring fine, and my phone wasn't the only
one I rebooted with the changed sip.conf and impd.conf. I have reverted
back to a standard sip.conf and impd.conf and I still can not get my
phone to ring for any incoming

Polycom Auto-Answer and Call Transfers
I have my * and polycom system setup to do Auto-Answer for internal
SIP/Staff calls, and I am running into an issue with this and the
polycom call transfer feature. * is seeing a new call come through from
the polycom and is then transferring the call over. I need to know if
there is some way I can grab a message from the SIP header or something
to determine if I should not set the ALERT_INFO tag

Polycom 501 Phones Rebooting
Hello,
At one of our locations, we have started to see Polycom 501s
(running 1.6.7 firmware) randomly reboot. We have taken packet traces of the
phones to determine if there is something odd in the Layer 2 or 3 of the
network that might cause it, and have not seen anything strange. There are
no errors on the ports. This appears to be affecting POE powered as well as
AC powered phones. The Polycom

Shared Extension Appearance
If SLA supports IP trunks, can shared extension appearance be achieved using
a local SIP trunk in place of an extension?
Basically, I'm trying to allow some stations (Polycom IP 650) to have a
shared extension amongst all of them. Ideally, I'd like for the LED to show
if that extension is in use, and I'd like for the extension to ring all
stations on that extension when a call comes

More Polycom IP501 questions
I am starting to get the hang of this, I think. These are more
implementation questions; "is this a proper/good way of using/doing this"
kind of questions.
The IP501 has three line appearances. I have learned that shared line
appearances cannot place calls, only receive them. They're indicated by the
"half telephone" icon beside the button. Private line

re: Polycom IP501 with Asterisk - distinctive ring
The answer is yes, I think, but I don't recall precisely how off the top of my head, and I'm walking out the door in a moment. The phone will hold more than a dozen distinct ring tones which you can create for yourself, and you can have asterisk direct it to use a ring tone independently of line appearance. The most direct way would be with the SIP Alert-Info field, but the phone itself

Polycom 601 message waiting indicator
Hi,
I'm used to the Polycom 501, with a big message light indicator that flashes
when I have a message waiting.
As far as I can see when looking at pictures, the 601 (and 650) do not have
this indicator light (nor does the 550 for that matter). How does it show
the user that it has a message waiting?
Regards,
Mike

Polycom IP501 with Asterisk - distinctive ring?
This is my first foray into SIP telephony, so be gentle. :-)
The Polycom SoundPoint IP 501 phones have been fantastic so far. I still have
a lot to learn when it comes to them, but the manual seems pretty extensive
and so far Asterisk has been playing well with them.
I have a need to be able to identify incoming calls based on some factor
(could be time of day, caller ID, dialed number, it

Shared line appearance phones?
Hi List,
What phones support shared line appearance? I would like a phone where we
can place calls on a line and have them picked up at another phone, but we
don't want to use call parking. I want to use this in a multi tenant
environment so I would need multiple lots. Any ideals for me?
Thanks!

Polycom IP 600
I am getting ready to install Asterisk and I was looking into the Polycom
IP600 phones. I spoke with Polycom sales to verify the multiple line
appearance and they said it would work. More specifically, if lines 1-3 all
contain the same SIP registration info, the Polycom will only send out 1 SIP
registration to the server and then handle the calls ringing on multiple
lines.
I was wondering if

How to make Polycom phones work with Asterisk asaSIP Client?
Wiley,
There are a couple of issues that we saw while not using this option.
1) sip authentication failures as Asterisk is not able to reach Polycom
phones.
A typical problem description is here:

2) DTMF issues for Transfers, Hold or simply to dial extensions. This
problem is more pronounced when you are using
