[Asterisk-Users] Continuance on Polycom issue, not ringing
Ok, so I emailed the list earlier about my polycom phone not ringing when anyone called in. Well, polycom support said that is impossible that this could happen because of a change in a configuration file. However the new phone arrived today (a refurb.) and it also would not ring. So I obviously got rather frustrated and blasted away all of my configuration files from the FTP server. I then copied another set of files from a working phone over, without changing anything and the phone started ringing when called. I then fought with this for about 3 hours today and kept running into the issue where both phones would ring through for everything when on a different extension but mine. So I removed all instances of my extension in the extensions.conf and sip.conf and then recreated them and I still had the issue. In the end I have had to switch my extension to a new one. But, I would definitely appreciate it if anyone who might have run into this issue in the past could help me to clarify what caused this to happen. I am afraid this might happen again in the future and I will not know how to fix it. In reality switching extensions is not a viable solution if this happened to occur to the owner of the corp. But, I would definitelyThat's pretty bizarre. It must be related to the data that got put into the SIP headers being sent to the phone. What extension number/ID were you using (the one that didn't work)?

Did you get any sniffer traces so we could see the sip messages sent. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Jared Armstrong Sent: Tuesday, December 07, 2004 6:14 PM To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Continuance on Polycom issue, not ringing Ok, so I emailed the list earlier about my polycom phone not ringing when anyone called in.
