Shockwave - any progress?
I have achieved much of what I wanted to achieve using Wine, with one
exception. I was hoping to be able to use Shockwave content, but despite
installing Firefox and the Shockwave plugin, it does not work - it seems
to stop after the promotional film before the actual requested content.
I know there are "pay" solutions to this problem, but was wondering if
anyone had found a free

Wine and ALSA
Hi,
I added some nice IP telephone programs and other sound related
applications to the next version of WineTools. The problem is that only
oss sound is reliable. With it it works very nice.
But if during running a program another linux program accesses sound,
the sound output of the Wine program is dying often does not come back.
This is typical as only one program can access the oss

Busy Signals after hangup
I've not seen an answer to this in any forum.
I make a call through Asterisk, with a VOIP phone, doesn't matter which.
The call gets made, I leave a voicemail, or complete the call in some
manner, and the other side hangs up. I hear a busy signal on the phone
on my end.
If I have an extension that looks like this, after the hangup() is
executed, my phone gives busy signals until I

Fedora 4 Compile environment
Hi
Does anyone have a working environmet to compile Fedora 4 xen rpm packages? Hopefully based on fc4 + additional packages.
I need to have rpm-packages, because I cannot have development tools in production systems.
I have looked through the archives without any working solutions. I have tried gcc32 and tune=pentium4 modifications, but I have always found new challenges (problems).

Installing winetools
When trying to install Microsoft Foundation Classes I find that
winetools gets stuck on the mfc40.dll download. I can download
mfc40.dll via my broswer, however. Where to stick this file, so that
winetools can find it, and not need to download from dlldump.com?
I'm on Ubuntu with the KDE desktop installed, if that matters. Thanks.

iTunes/WineTools - Status?
Hi,
I was just wondering what the status of iTunes under and standard
version of Wine is and whether any version of WineTools is yet set up
to install it? I visited the WineTools website but didn't find iTunes
on the supported software list. I understand that it runs under
Crossover Office but I tried and was not able to get it to work.
Thanks,
Mark

OED2 CDROM only displays small caps font
Hi.
I've recently updated to Suse 9.3, and my OED2 CDROM software no longer works
properly under Wine - the dialog and general system text of the application
still displays properly, but the application data, the results lists and
definition text, doesn't.
Essentially, the problem seems to be that Wine seems to think that this kind
of text has to be displayed as small caps. The

Hello. I run samba 3.0.21c on RHEL AS 4 EMT_64 U3 and I've experienced a
strange problem where smbd will go (and stay) in the D state. While
waiting for IO (possibly), these smbd processes do not respond to client
requests, thus samba appears to be down. I could not kill these
processes via kill -9 , so I rebooted which worked.
The only error I could see out of the ordinary would be

plot.hclust: strange behaviour with "manufactured" hclust object
I've been trying to get plot.hclust to work with a hclust object I
created and have not had much success. It seems that there is some
"hidden" characteristic of a hclust object that I can't see. This is
most easily seen in the following example, where plot.hclust works on
one object, but when this object is "dumped" and then re-read,
plot.hclust no longer works. Is

Sluggish UI in KDE
Slackware 10.0. Wine version whatever was current a month ago, how do I tell
what wine version I have? Anyhow, I'm experience two issues:
I have KDE setup with 4 virutual desktops. If I'm running WinMX via wine,
and if I try to switch to a different desktop, it immediately switches back.
I basically can't use the other desktops because I can't switch to them.
Also, I can't

x/y coordinates of dendrogram branches
Dear R-users,
I need some help concerning the plotting of dendrograms for hierarchical
agglomerative clustering.
The agglomeration niveau of each step should be displayed at the
branches of the dendrogram.
For this I need the x/y coordinates of the branch-agglomerations of the
dendrogram.
The y-values are known (the heights of the agglomeration), but how can I
get the x-values?
