I'll pay anyone a $20 bounty for someone to replicate the USA Asterisk
Weather App on Tropo.
Would like to see how quickly this is implemented.

Gluster native mount is really slow compared to nfs
Hi all,
?
?
One more thing, we have 3 apps servers with the gluster on it, replicated on 3 different gluster nodes. (So the gluster nodes are app servers at the same time). We could actually almost work locally if we wouldn't need to have the same files on the 3 nodes and redundancy :)
?
Initial cluster was created like this:
?
gluster volume create www replica 3 transport tcp

segmentation fault
Dear sir,
I have configured samba with ads integration and it was working
perfectly in RedHat Linux 9.0. But Yesterday I changed that
configuration as simple user level security. But my problem was when I
run 'smbpasswd' command I am getting one error as 'Segmentation fault'.
What I can do to trouble shoot this problem. Kindly reply me as soon as
possible..
Thanks & Rgds

Gluster native mount is really slow compared to nfs
Hello,
?
?
Here is some speedtest with a new setup we just made with gluster 3.10, there are no other differences, except glusterfs versus nfs. The nfs is about 80 times faster:
?
?
root at app1:~/smallfile-master# mount -t glusterfs -o use-readdirp=no,log-level=WARNING,log-file=/var/log/glusterxxx.log 192.168.140.41:/www /var/www
root at app1:~/smallfile-master# ./smallfile_cli.py ?--top

Gluster native mount is really slow compared to nfs
Hello,
?
?
We tried tons of settings to get a php app running on a native gluster mount:
?
e.g.:?192.168.140.41:/www /var/www glusterfs defaults,_netdev,backup-volfile-servers=192.168.140.42:192.168.140.43,direct-io-mode=disable 0 0
?
I tried some mount variants in order to speed up things without luck.
?
?
After that I tried nfs (native gluster nfs 3 and ganesha nfs 4), it was a crazy

utmp and 2.2.3a
Hi,
Samba 2.2.3a release notes say that utmp is fixed in this version.
But doesn't seem to be working with me. I have few of my shares enables
with this option and 'utmp directory' is set globally. Am I missing
something here ? or this still remains a bug ?

Printing question
Hello all.
I have a question about setting up samba to serve windows printing.
I have been trying to research this but keep coming up with conflicting
howto's. Can someone give me directions to an up-to-date print howto? It
would be greatly appreciated as I am stuck on this.
Cheers,
Tony

Windows 7 adding printer
Hello Team,
I am unable to add/upload Windows 7 64 bit print driver from Windows 7 64 bit laptop. It is giving me following error.
The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based system.
Is there any work around ?

Gluster native mount is really slow compared to nfs
Hello Joe,
?
?
I really appreciate your feedback, but I already tried the opcache stuff (to not valildate at all). It improves of course then, but not completely somehow. Still quite slow.
?
I did not try the mount options yet, but I will now!
?
?
With nfs (doesnt matter much built-in version 3 or ganesha version 4) I can even host the site perfectly fast without these extreme opcache settings.

Win2k clients and PDC
Hi,
We have Samba 2.2.6(+2.2.7 security patch) installed on solaris.
Samba is used as PDC for WinNT and Win2K clients. The WinNT machines have
no problems geting into the domain as machine trust accounts exist in
/etc/passwd and smbpasswd file. However, Win2k clients are not able to
join the domain. I did go through the documentation, and hence created
root account in 'smbpasswd'

Gluster native mount is really slow compared to nfs
My standard response to someone needing filesystem performance for www
traffic is generally, "you're doing it wrong".
https://joejulian.name/blog/optimizing-web-performance-with-glusterfs/
That said, you might also look at these mount options:
attribute-timeout, entry-timeout, negative-timeout (set to some large
amount of time), and fopen-keep-cache.

Asterisk integration with IBM Sametime
Hi,
I wanted to know if anyone has experience in integration asterisk with
IBM Sametime server (by implementing TCSPI).
Any pointers for this would be very helpful.
Have been reading/googling around a bit and I get to understand that the
communication between the Sametime server and Asterisk is SIP.
Wanted to know if my understanding is right. Since this is part of some
experiment I'm
