Hi guys, I'm running a Sirrix PCI4S0 quad BRI card in a box with Asterisk CVS-HEAD (20050614). Something I've come across is that with 'echocancel = yes' in /etc/asterisk/sirrix.conf the echo is unbearably loud - so loud in fact that the echo distorts. To remedy this I've set 'echocancel = no' and disabled the echo cancellation. With the echo cancellation disabled

How do I test if the card is working or not ? Is there something that I can do to get a response from the card ? I'm trying to use ZapRAS to enable ppp connection through my E1. After the ZapRAS command is executed, all sound is crappy on all lines! The problem is caused because rsync does not close its sockets, and WinSock is a quite strict on this. The solution is to shutdown and close the fd. This is a 5-minute hack I've done to fix the obvious occurrences of the problem.
