PrintMaster 7.0 *nearly*, *very* nearly printing properly
I have PrintMaster 7.0 Classic (I assume) and it will in fact print, which is more than it will do on Win XP, but Wine printing is not able to handle the coloured fonts correctly. Is there a tweak that can be applied? By downloading a dll for instance? The only Wine error related to printing was: fixme:commdlg:PRINTDLG_WMCommandA No handling for print quality combo box yet. That didn't

Internet Explorer 6 Setup & App DB
Hi, some time ago (around 7. May 2006) there was a coment in the App DB to get the setup of Internet Explorer 6 working. The Coment was about removing some dll names from the wine.inf file. The coment was removed from the App DB, but the setup still fails for me with current cvs (~2 hours ago). Therefore i like two know two things: - does anyone remember which lines needs to be removed

Pegasus Mail and recent versions of Wine
Has anyone succeeded in running Pegasus Mail with a version of Wine newer than 0.9.8? With Wine 0.9.9 I experienced a termination of Pegasus Mail every time I closed a message composition window. This was not "fixed" in Wine 0.9.10. With Wine 0.9.11 and Wine 0.9.12 Pegasus Mail appears to be unable to display anything other than its startup window with the flying horse and the

NAT and Wine
How can I configure my Wine setup to be able to connect through my router consistantly? I mean that certain apps, notably ie6setup.exe seem to see the lan, but not be able to look any further. Am I overlooking something? Thanks -- If you wrestle in the mud with a pig. you both get dirty, and the pig likes it. -- Dave Dawson

Wine message re glx - what can I do about it?
I am getting the following message from the stripsaver2 install and wondered if this affects other programs with graphics: wine: creating configuration directory '/home/dave/.wine'... err:wgl:wgl_initialize_glx glx_version as 1.2 and GLX_SGIX_fbconfig extension is unsupported. Expect problems. Is this end-user fixable, like by updating a glx library or something? -- If you wrestle in

N1MM Logger won't run
This is a freeware program written in Visual Basic 6.0 which I would dearly love to get working under Wine. It is available here: http://pages.cthome.net/n1mm/ It appears to install (with a few errors and fixmes reported). Then when I ran it, the program coughed up a VB runtime error and died (also a few errors and fixmes). I am running Wine 0.9.16 which I compiled from source in Debian Etch,

Created rpm from wine 0.9.14 does not install - conflict with desktop-file-utils-0.10-9
Hi I downl;oaded the source distribution of wine 0.9.14 and compiled it as described in the readme file. I now created an rpm with checkinstall. My problem is that I can not install it, as it tells me that there is a conflict with the package desktop-file-utils-0.10-9: # rpm -Uvh wine-0.9.14-1.i386.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%] file

Windows Genuine Advantage
If this is off subject or has already been addressed, sorry. "Windows Genuine Advantage" looks like a move to make wine worthless. What I mean is that M$ development API pushes windows developers' applications to require you install IE 6.0 (soon 7.0) or later, making IE a key part of wine. If IE requires Genuine MicroSoft (Windows Genuine Advantage) to install, then most if not all

Pegasus - No Internet Options
I've just updated my Ubuntu system with the latest Wine from wine.org hoping it would resolve an ongoing problem with the Windows Pegasus email program. Pegasus loads fine, address books and identities all there but the Internet Options is greyed out. I've tried enabling and disabling the winsock32.dll option, I've tried suggestions of deleting pmail.cfg and winpm-32.manifest.

MS Access2000 does not work fine
Dear All I am using Wine 0.9.15 on Fedora Core 5 in connection with WineTools. However, when I create a new database on MS Access (from MS Office2000), I get the following error: "The Dynamic Link Library msjet40.dll could not be located". So, I cannot use MS Access under Wine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Paul

When trying to run Windows games, it logs me off
I've installed several Windows 98 games on the Linux end of my computer using Wine, and I must say I'm impressed that they run on Linux as opposed to Win XP. The games install correctly, and the configuration files for them work as well. When I try to run the games though, they begin as expected and get as far as changing the screen resolution when it logs me off of my OS unexpectedly!

No License error message when running MSAccess via Wine
Does any one out there running MicroSoft Access 97 get this message when they try to run it via Wine ? "Microsoft Access can't start because there is no license for it on this machine" I get this message, despite the fact I have a perfectly legal copy of Access on my machine, and it runs perfectly, and has been for years, from windows. I am running linux Fedora FC5, and wine

Difference Between WINE and an Emulator
I've got someone who doesn't understand that WINE Is Not an Emulator and apparently doesn't get the FAQ on the site. I personally don't use WINE (still being on Windows kinda avoids the need), so I don't really have the knowledge to argue this much farther. Here's his latest point (formating in clasic usenet style below), I need something simple that says,

IE stopped working after update
04252006 0906 GMT-6 Apparently sometime in the last two weeks my Internet Explorer stopped working. My son said one day a message popped up and said Updates Available from Ubuntu so he did the update and he thought Wine was one of them. Anyway, I have to have IE for a IE only site. What can I do to figure out why it is not now starting? Wade

Learn Typing Quick & Easy - unusual message from app
A friend of mine gave me a Cd with the "Learn Typing Quick & Easy" program. It installs, but when I ran it, quit with the following message 'Wrong version of operating system; requires Windows NT 3.51 (build 1057 or above) Maybe it would run if I could give it the required version build number (I tried setting the Windows version to NT 3.51, but that didn't satisfy it).

Windows Genuine Advantage checker
Is there a way to run The WindowsGenuineAdvantage.exe? i tried it with Wine 0.9.29 and it crashed. What I really wanted to do was run the WindowsVistaAdvisor.msi, That proceeded and I got the .NET stuff downloaded and installed, but It wanted IE version 5.5 or something. I think if the fake IE stuff in Wine should have made that last step above unecessary? Any ideas? Thanks. NOTE: This is
