Default delay time for Attended call transfer
Greetings, I have an issue with the length of time that passes from when someone hits the transfer soft key on a Cisco 7940, after doing an attended transfer, and when the recipient?s connects with the transferred call. It appears to be around 6 seconds. Is there a .conf in Asterisk where this time can be reduced? Thank you for your help Don No virus found in this outgoing message.

Default delay time for Attended call
A call comes in from the PSTN, Asterisk answers it, it goes to the directory, and then to the extension the caller designates and the user at that extension answers. The user at the extension then wants to transfer the call to another extension; on the Cisco 7940 they push the ?more? soft key, then the ?Transfer? soft key, then enter the extension number they want to transfer to, and hit the

MOH question w/Cisco 79xx phones
Hi Everyone.... Got a newbie type question regarding MOH & Cisco phones. I'm still new to Asterisk (very new in fact) & built up a AsteriskNOW box just to get something going. My simple test system has just 3 Cisco phones a 7905, 7940 & 7960. - Everything's running SIP. The 3 phones can call each other fine. - Can even leave (and retreive) voicemail messages. - No problems.

Cisco 79xx + asterisk + some functions Q
Hi, I am new to Asterisk and have some general questions _before_ I start buying equipent to install and get everything up-and-running. (this means I have no running Asterisk (yet)). I have read already a lot of doc, but some things are not clear to me, since I'am inexperienced in Asterisk and PBX. The goal: Make PBX using Asterisk and Cisco 79xx equipment for 25 phones (1 x 7970, 4 x 7960,

Cisco 79XX SIP Ring Tones
Hi all, Has anyone gotten custom ring tones to work using ALERT_INFO with the Cisco 7940 SIP phone? I've read the wiki, but just can't get this to work. I'm currently using the 7.2 SIP image. Thanks, Chris

7912G: Takes the same firmware as 7940/60?
Does anyone know if the 7912G (which the wiki says can do either sccp or sip) uses the 7940/60 sip firmware? I ask this because the only firmware I can seem to find on TAC for the 7912G is sccp, no sip...if it takes it's own firmware and doesn't use 7940/60 firmware, can someone point me to the right location for it? Cisco 79xx firmware
I have several Cisco 79xx phones (7905, 7920, 7940, 7960, 7970, ATA 186) and I need to buy firmware for them. I have contacted http://www.cdw.com and http://www.insight.com/ but they didn't respond. Can anybody tell me where can I buy SCCP and SIP firmware for my phones? BTW, I'm in Croatia (Hrvatska). I heard that location does matter. P.S. My local Cisco reseller wants to sell me

Cisco 79xx XML Apps (was: Re: Cisco Directory Format)
Do you know where to find clear developers' guides (with some examples) for developing apps that run *on* Cisco 79xx phones (especially the 7970)? Examples that can run against Asterisk (not CallManager) with SIP firmware (not SCCP), and/or LDAP directories (or other open servers) would be best. Beginers Help - Hardware selection
I am new to Asterisk. I am trying to ascertain the hardware setup (and associated cost) I would need. The documentation in the wiki (and elsewhere) is extensive but I am somewhat lost in product model numbers. Hence I need an initial recommandation to work on. 15 incoming lines, 25 employees). Initial scenario is to use * as a plain old PBX. I need voicemail, ability to transfer calls, ... I

Guide to Cisco 79xx
Anybody have a guide to the Cisco 79xx phones? One that I can give the 7 or 8 ppl in my office so that they can stop asking me questions. I was going to type up a basic guide but then decided I don't want to reinvent the wheel, one of you may already have one. I tried to use Cisco's guide but it's for their own protocol, a lot of options are different or rearranged. I need a basic

Cisco 79xx users/consultants, 7970G color in particular share information (was: Re: asterisk-users Digest, Vol 44, Issue 3)
The documentation of how to use the 79xx series' phones and features with Asterisk is really hard to find and put together. The higher end phones like 7970 are more like converged PC+phone, a thin client to telephony and network apps. But it's really hard to target it as a development and deployment platform because the docs and techniques are so obscure. There seems to be a fair amount

chan_sccp and hinting
Ok, so multiple people have said that hinting is possible with chan_sccp on the 7940/7960's and such, has anyone got this working? How do you go about getting this to work? I'd use the wiki, but it's link to the mailing list topic on that doesn't work anymore :( -- Aaron Daniel Computer Systems Technician Sam Houston State University amdtech@shsu.edu (936) 294-4198

Cisco 79xx series IP phones
Shawn, That's a complete load of manure. I have an office full of 7960's, they work great with asterisk with the SIP images loaded. I'm about to pick up a lot of 7912's (simple one line phones, same as the 7905 but it has a built in switch). These phones have also been confirmed to work with Asterisk. I would recommend not going directly to cisco, and just find a reseller who

Cisco 7940/7960 SIP functionality questions
Hello, I'm considering using Asterisk with some type of Cisco phone, and currently considering either the 7940 or 7960 because of its more-complete functionality (compared to the 7905). I'm currently wondering: Do all the expected functions (transfer, conference, voice mail, message waiting indicator, etc.) work normally with Asterisk over SIP? What caveats are known about using

cisco 7920 makes 7940 reboot
I have asterisk 1.09 running with chan_sccp.20050701 on Fedora core 4 with kernel 2.6.12. I have a Cisco 7940 working with X-lite working on XP too, connecting to each other, Asterisk and FWD. The 7940 upgraded to SIP7.4 with xmlDefault.cnf.XML getting delivered via tftp using the loadInformation8 parameter method taken from voip-info.org ("Configuring Cisco 79xx phones with Asterisk"

Cisco 7940 - Disappearing Clock - SOLVED
P.S. I _had_ read the other posts that suggest changing to unicast sntp mode. This didn't help. I eventually setup a new ntp server on my LAN, and used it as a sync source. Everything seems OK now. Obviously a problem with my other ntp server. Cheers. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Cisco 7940 - Disappearing Clock Date: Thu, 28 Jul 2005 11:50:35 +1000 From: Rod Bacon
