Avaya 4620/4640 SIP firmware
Does anybody know if Avaya has a test SIP firmware available for 4620 and
4640 IP phones? The 46xx SIP image from their website is a combo download
with SIP for the 4602, and h323 for the the 4620 and 4640.
It looks like they demo'd a SIP image for the 4640 as far back as 2004:

Avaya 9640 Convert to SIP (slightly off topic)
Hi List,
Ive got a bunch of Avaya IP9640 that we want to convert to SIP and then hook
up to Asterisk so we can dump this overpriced Avaya system. Ive got ahold of
the SIP firmware, but I cannot find anything on how to convert the phone
itself to SIP, when I go into setup mode it wants a "command" which im
guessing is the program code like the rest of the Avaya systems works. Has

Asterisk and Avaya IP phones
The company I work for has deployed an Avaya IP phone system. They have
deployed the Avaya 4602 and 4620 IP telephones. They might be sending
me one of these phones for use in my home office.
Question: Can I make this IP telephone register and work with my
Asterisk server? I don't know if it is a SIP phone? I searched thru
the Avaya site, but can't find whether it's a SIP phone or

Avaya firmware
I attempted to update an Avaya 4602 phone to the latest SIP firmware and
now the phone stops at the bootloader. It keeps requesting an
appsip.ebin file from my HTTP server and is no longer checking my TFTP
server for update files. Since no appsip.ebin file was included in the
firmware update provided by Avaya, I have no idea where I am supposed to
get this file. And also since it is no

Help with asterisk and avaya SIP trunking
Hi * Users,
I ran into a problem when I was trying to communicate an avaya IP Office
talk to asterisk with SIP Trunking. I had successful calls from asterisk to
Avaya but not from avaya to asterisk.
Can someone provide me insight on how to address it or the path to resolve
it.
The error I get is mentioned below: (dialing 32564 from avaya to asterisk)

Avaya and Asterisk
So far I have not found a way that I can register the Avaya phone
with Asterisk. From what I have found so far is that Avaya phone
needs the Avaya Media Server and Avaya Gateway.
Looking at the h.323.conf (in Asterisk) and the file 46xxsettings.txt
(avaya file located in tftpboot) there are no settings to make the
phone initialize.
I have sent an email to the Asterisk Users Mailing List to see

Problem with Avaya 4602 / SIP response 481
I have an Avaya 4602 IP phone that was previously working with Asterisk. It
was being used elsewhere for several months, and I recently set it up again
to work with Asterisk. Everything works fine for several minutes -- I am
able to receive and make calls as expected. However, after a few minutes,
and every few minutes thereafter, I get the following message on the
console:

Successfully Using $135 Avaya sip phone
I think I am the first to use the $135 Avaya 4602 SIP phone, but I
need some support from the community to fix one problem I have with
it.
The phone stops working after about 20-30mins if I have
mailbox=context in Asterisk; when I do have mailbox=contect in
asterisk the sip debug returns "481 extension does not exist."
Anyone willing to help me figure out why?
I.E. Is it an Asterisk

Avaya 4610sw SIP setup problem
Hi all,
I've been pulling my hair out for two days over this problem... I did *a
lot* of Googling around, I searched the list archives to no avail - no
one has the same problem!
I have two Avaya 4610sw phones. I installed the latest SIP firmware
using the TFTP server. So far everything looks good. Each time the phone
boots, it retrieves the 46xxsettings.txt from the TFTP server. My

Asterisk 1.8.7.0 connectivity to Avaya SM
Hello all, I hope someone can help me with this old Asterisk version. I have to run this version because of a custom IVR written on it. Porting it would take much too long and we'd have to hire a consultant because of all the hooks it has into Oracle databases and real-time information.
We have a brand-new Avaya phone system in place and we will be cutting over to it in late March 2019.

Asterisk 1.8.7.0 connectivity to Avaya SM
Thanks for the reply John.
About 85-90% of what this box has to do is just handle calls, but it also has options to transfer calls to the main phone system, which up to now has been another asterisk box. For example, you can hit 6 to be transferred to the Lost & Found Department.
I do have allowguest set to “yes” already, but of course I also have type=peer and the other stuff for a sip

Avaya dialing problems
Currently I am having 2 issues with my Avaya 4602 phone:
First, the phone registers with my Asterisk server, but when I start
dialing I get a busy signal after 4 digits. I specified in the dialplan
on the phone to expect 10 digits and that solved that problem, but I
still immediately get a busy after the 10th digit. The phone never
sends a dial command to asterisk.
Second, asterisk is

AVAYA H.323 IP phone account and Asterisk
Hi
I've a softphone account to a AVAYA H.323 system, basically, it has a
numeric ID (which is the extension number) and a numeric password.
Instead of using the default AVAYA softphone (H.323), can I make asterisk as
a H.323 client and login to the AVAYA system via any one of its h323
modules?

Asterisk and Avaya...
I just connected an Asterisk server to an Avaya Pbx using the
instructions at: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk
+Avaya
Everything seems to be working as I can send and receive calls. The
only detail I am having a problem with is that when an extension on the
Avaya calls an Asterisk extension, I only get the name part of the CID,
not the number. From Asterisk to the Avaya
