answer a voip call, play info.
Hi all -
Not really sure where to post this question as I am just starting to
research this issue.
We want to allow users to dial into our did voip number. Our service will:
1. get their phone number via caller ID. look up data with the caller id.
2. generate a wave file based on the data returned & play it to the
user over the established voip link.
How might this be done using

getting at ${CALLERIDNUM}
Hi all --
I'm having awesome fun with Asterisk & voicepulse connect together.
So cool.
I'm trying to have the caller id read back to me. Do I need to do
something to have this sent across in the sip.conf? Or is there
something I need to do somewhere to enable the reading of this data?
Thank you!

AGI: Not getting answers from get_data in a call-file call
I have the following situation: I drop a call-file into the Asterisk
spool directory and I get called back. That all works.
And I have this script:
#!/usr/bin/perl -w
use Asterisk::AGI;
my $AGI = new Asterisk::AGI;
my %input = $AGI->ReadParse();
$AGI->answer();
my $i;
$i = $AGI->channel_status();
$AGI->say_digits($i);
$i =

IVR seleCtion
Hello Team,
IVR selection of QUEUEMETRICS
As we know queuemetrics had an IVR selection functionality where it can get the IVR keypress of a caller.
We saw this link http://forum.queuemetrics.com/index.php?action=printpage;topic=503.0
and upon checking, its only determined the Queue, I want to get is the per IVR of a caller.
Can you help me guys regarding this? I want to implement this with

Queue - Multiple Transfer
Hi all,
I ve setup a queue with 2+ agents for managing our inbound calls from
customer. Using Asterisk 1.2.18 in a CentOS box. Agents login using
AgentCallbackLogin application and I use a BASH AGI to accomplish this
as there are some validations done with MySQL DB. Im aware that transfer
could be done with option 't' in the queue() application and I was able
to successfully transfer

Question about AGI vs. FastAGI vs. straight C/DB development
Folks,
I want to build a custom IVR for my setup. I've got it
working (well, the bells and whistles are not there
yet, but the basic stuff works) using AGI, but I'm
worried about how well this will scale.
I've seen references to FastAGI, and presumably this
will be more efficient.
Question, though: how well do either of these (AGI or
FastAGI) scale if my system is handling a large

Fast AGI library/support for C & C++
Dear All,
Is there anyone who is having FastAGI support for C & C++?
We do have FastAGI working for the JAVA and rest of the language / script.
But I am unable to find FastAGI for C/C++.
Please let us know how to write FastAGI using C/C++.
Thanks in Advance,
Kashyap

wrapuptime?
Hi!
Trying to understand how wrapuptime is working...
I have written a small php script that let agents log in/out
off a queue. That part is working as a clock but wrapuptime
is not doing what I expect.
Input Interi?r - Queue Manager
0317998989 has 0 calls (max unlimited) in 'rrmemory' strategy (5s
holdtime, 94s talktime), W:0, C:8, A:1, SL:0.0% within 0s

Multiple AGI Issues
I've got several issues with AGI/FastAGI
1. When an AGI script sends a command to Asterisk via stdin, why does Asterisk block and not return a result until the command is complete? Specifically, the dial command. If I send a Dial command to Asterisk, I don't get a return result until AFTER the call is HUNG UP. Not when it's ringing, not when the call is connected, but when it's

Disconnect queues members every night
Hi,
To force user to behave correctly, i want to make a process of disconnecting
every member but one (special alarm phone) every day at a special time.
I'm thinking of a cron job that will create a "call file" that will dial an
appropriate extension to do the job, is this the correct way ?
I'm facing two problems however, the call file system is here to connect a
channel to

Forking AGI or GoSub
In PHP something like:
$pid = pcntl_fork();
if ($pid != 0) {
// we are the parent
// do parent stuff
exit;
}
// we are the child, detatch from terminal
$sid = posix_setsid();
if ($sid < 0) {
die;
}
// do child stuff

Which AGI Development Software is fastest on Asterisk?
I'm looking to develop some custom AGI that will be MySQL intensive. It
appears Asterisk supports many different development environments. Which
would be best suited for Asterisk and MySQL?

SIPPeersAction class file not found in the Asterisk-java.jar file
Hello Everybody,
I am working on Fastagi and I am making use of
Asterisk-java. But I don't find the class file for SIPPeersAction. Hence I
am getting the error message when compiling my java code.

AGI, FASTAGI or Windows Voice Server
Hello!
I have developed an IVR using AGI and so far it works great. I'm using Cepstral voices, but now want to use the voices from AT & T that are on a Windows server to be heard best. With cepstral what I do is to generate audio files from shipping and this text I reproduce this method it has worked very well.
Now, try to do the same by creating the audio file in windows with the

odd behaviour with AGI and dial agent
Hi,
I have come across an odd problem.
Basically I am transferring a call to an agent. The agent is logged in
and set as paused.
In order to find which agent to call I am using a fastagi script to just
set a variable.
When it falls through the agi script and dials the agent (using the
variable) it doesn't connect the call properly to the agent. I get the
beep but no audio (along with

Which Java FastAGI implementation has the most "market share"?
When I was looking for a Java FastAGI interface for Asterisk I came
across asterisk-java first and didn't realize there was more than one
out there. It seems to work fine and I've got my first project working
with it, but I was wondering which Java FastAGI implementation is the
most popular and how they compare against each other.
So I'm aware of:

AGI timeout option
Hello list,
Hope you all doing well!
Recently, I had an issue with a FastAGI PHP script, which under some
specific situation would run into an infinity loop, consuming all CPU
resources. This also was preventing Asterisk to terminated the call
properly because it was waiting for the AGI to return... The application
uses AGIspeedy to process the AGI calls, not sure if this can be affecting

Simplest way of executing a non-blocking (async) python AGI script?
I use a python AGI which pulls some info from a web service, which should
take half a second.
Sometimes, it takes 5-10 seconds which blocks the dialplan execution, but
the dialplan should continue immediately as it's not dependent on the
AGI/web service data.
What's the simplest, easiest quickest least-code way of firing off an AGI
with some variable, and then returning to the dialplan?

Terminating AGI Scripts
I've noticed that Asterisk AGI scripts don't terminate when a call is answered. Does anyone know how to do this? I would think that this would be a very big problem, if the scripts stayed in memory, doing nothing, until the call terminates.
Not only do you have to have a process for routing each call, but all the previous calls, that are still in progress, also have scripts running. It

Fast AGI Options. Eeeek!
Some questions regarding calling Fast AGI from the dial plan.
Considering that the server side of the Fast AGI has to be able to a) use threading and b) connect to MySQL, this causes some serious limitations. I'm not a C programmer, so development options are either perl or python.
It appears that the perl DBI isn't thread safe, so that rules out Perl. Python's database interfaces
