Resolving digit strings using pound/hash.
Hi all,
The thing that has bugged me about Asterisk since I first started
playing with it, is the fact that the pound sign/hash/octothorp doesn't
resolve digit conflicts or cancel timing on a variable length string such
as a tie line code or when you call numbers in a country whose length can
be different between numbers in the same plan. In North America, we see
this when calling

Sending a message from inside voicemailmain.
As far back as I can remember in 1.4, the option of sending a VM from
voicemailmain (3-5 or 3-5-1), depending if you could use the directory has
been broken. In the ChangeLog for 1.4.18 a bug (11735) was mentioned. I
do seem to remember that in 1.2, it wasn't possible to send a message to
ones-self. This bug fix apparently corrects that situation. Well, I
guess it would, if only it

Unable to build smsq on beta6 and x86_64.
Hi,
When I build the same asterisk package that I build on i386 on
x86_64, I don't get /usr/sbin/smsq. AFAIK, the two machines have the same
set of installed packages. What should I be looking for in the output of
./configure to get a clue of what might be missing?
TIA.

linear lists, creation, insertion, deletion, traversal *someone?*
Hi,
In a second try I will ask this list to give me some useful pointers.
Linear lists, as described e.g. by N.Wirth in "Algorithms and Data
Structures", seem not to be implemented in S/R, although in lisp we have
cons, car, cdr.
Nevertheless I want to implement an algorithm using such linear lists,
porting a trusted program to R (S). I need:

CallerID shows wrong values in manager interface
Hi everyone,
My manager interface seems to be producing wrong CallerIDs when
internal extensions call each other. Can anyone see anything wrong in
the configuration snippets pasted below? The following instance has
extension 101 call 103. The phone does show the right caller ID, but
notice that the manager interface has the CallerID as the target
number (103).
Thanks a lot for your time.

IAXy (S101) echo?
Hi Bradley,
Yes, I experienced quite a lot of echo with my IAXy, until I switched
analog handsets - in my case, it was severe acoustic coupling in a
cheap handset.

Excel files & file modification time
Hi everyone,
I have a problem on samba running on RHEL 3 kernel 2.4.21 with RHEL 3
samba packages - samba-3.0.7-1.3E.1.
The problem is, that when people open excel files (with office 97
version of excel) the file modification time is changed (even if the
file is only opened and excel closed without saving).
This same problem does not occur on the [homes] share (in every test

auth-master socket access
Hey,
I'm doing a setup of dovecot (cvs) + postfix + dovecot lda (cvs).
Is there any solution to the /var/run/dovecot/auth-master access
restrictions, prohibiting the user running dovecot-deliver from
communicating with the master (aside from the dirty and unsafe hack to
reset the permissions of the /var/run/dovecot dir after starting dovecot)?
Thanks,

unknown qdisc ''htb'' ???
Hello,
I''d like to try out HTB for traffic shaping.
I have a test machine with Redhat 7.2 (kernel 2.4.10), I''ve downloaded
kernel 2.4.17, applied the patch from http://luxik.cdi.cz/~devik/qos/htb/,
recompiled the kernel (checked the option to use HTB in make menuconfig),
and rebooted with the new kernel.
When I try to add some rules with HTB (f.i. tc qdisc add dev eth0 root

varpart
Dear R-users
I applied vegan's varpart function to partition the effects of
explanatory matrices. Adj. R square for the unique fraction [a] is
0.25. Does anyone know why the decomposition by hand using rda gives
me a different result for [a] (constrained proportion is 0.32)? I used
cbind() for the conditional fractions, but it should be similar to
condition()?
Thanks very much

REofRE: password change on the domain password server using clienttools
Hi Lieven
Thanks for advise !
the
getent passwd
command shows me all the users of the 2k domain in this format :
DOMAIN2K+user:x:10000:10026::/home/NetBiosName/user:/bin/bash
I think that's correct. But do you think I got to use nss pam or something
like that ?
I just can't login with a 2000 user on Samba, but guests (unknown users )
can, when I permit them to. So I think users are
