Does X100P decode caller ID?
The SM56 MODEM manual says it does. But when used with zaptel 1.2.12, nothing shows up. Yuan Liu

X100P how do i recieve incomming calls?
I have just purchased a 2nd hand X100P, if I do a ztcfg -vv I get: "Zaptel Version: 1.4.0 Echo Canceller: MG2 Configuration ====================== Channel map: Channel 01: FXS Kewlstart (Default) (Slaves: 01) 1 channels configured." My understanding of the above is that the zaptel driver has detected the card. What do I now need to do, in order to get an incoming call to work with

Console latency
Another bizarry: If I run the Echo application from the console, I can hear a very long delay (upward to 1,000 ms). I can run the same application from a GrandStream phone (on the same LAN) and hear little delay. What could possibly be wrong? If it were interrupt overload, I'd hear lots of cracks in my echo, right? I'm not hearing that. Besides, a telephony card is not involved.

DTMF from TDM400P and X100P
With one IVR payment system, I noticed quite a difference in DTMF transmission between these two cards. The IVR missed nearly all digits from X100P, while receiving digits from TDM fine. Since neither card process or synthesize audio, what can the difference be? (This particular IVR has problem with some regular phone devices, too.) Yuan Liu

X100P "rings" randomly when "phone" line makes call
Not sure if anyone experienced the same - or if anyone ever connected a POTS phone to the "Phone" jack on an X100P card. The POTS phone rings normally when the FXO receives a call. The POTS phone can also make outgoing calls when FXO is not holding the line. This is desired. But if a call connected to the POTS phone lasts longer than a couple of minutes, Asterisk would receive

Asterisk and 802.11g
I'm greatly surprised when testing an Asterisk box with 802.11g. Here's the topology: VoIP caller --- 802.11g --- Asterisk --- 802.11g --- VoIP extension | FXO ___ PSTN extension When I call a VoIP extension on that box (from a VoIP extension), voice is good. But when this box tries to bridge the call with a

x100p and groundstart signaling - help
hello, I just installed 2 brand new x100p cards into my linux system. Everything compliled and worked fine from the first try. Hoewver the phone lines I will use with this system have groundstart signaling. I have tried to change the zaptel.conf and zapata.conf to use this type of signaling but ztcfg gives me an error every time with the new configuration. Bellow are the config files and the

zttool always reports "OK" on TDM400P
Just noticed that no matter what the line condition is, zttool always reports "OK", so it's pretty useless. (In contrast, I'd get "Red alert" if I unplug the line connecting to an X100P.) I'm using zaptel 1.2.15 on Linux 2.6.15-28 (also tested on 2.6.10). Yuan Liu

x100p bridged - detect voice?
I'm running * on two pstn lines (x100p cards) that happen to also have analog phones installed on the incoming pair for backup (until testing is complete). If someone is talking on a pstn analog phone and they talk loud enough, * senses the voice (apparently assuming the line is ringing), and rings an appropriate SIP phone (7960). Is there a way to config * so as to only process inbound

Extensions in macro
Home someone can explain this: a Goto() command can walk within a macro, but if a digit is dialed from within a macro, the call flows back to the context that called the macro. Is there some way to "contain" the flow? Thanks. Yuan Liu

To 1.4 or not
I don't have a particular reason to upgrade, but I'm installing a new box, so I have the opportunity to go 1.4. On the other hand, I'm not familiar with 1.4, and relatively new to Asterisk. So instead of trying to keep up with two different versions, I want to tie my handful of boxes to one, before any of them grow too complex. Is there a document about the main motivations to
