How to unlock old SCCP Cisco 7960 ?
Hi, An Cisco 7960 ipphone has been set to SCCP firmware by one of our students. I want to set it to 7.5 SIP firmware and I've been unsuccessful yet. Firmware versions are SCCP 3.0 (Source: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_ipphon/english/ipp7960/addprot/mgcp/frmwrup.htm#wp1045789) ie: Application Load P003F300 Boot Load ID PC030300 When I browse, phone settings, I see

OT: Disable Polycom 650 Forward Softkey
I've got a problem that keeps popping up with my reception phone. It is a IP 650 and the receptionist - on three occassions - has accidentally hit the "Forward" softkey just before she enters the "Page All" keystrokes and then all future calls get routed as an overhead page. I will admit, the first time it happened, I was totally stumped. Why the heck did I have

Cisco 7960G, Skinny.conf, and reboots
I could use some skinny/Cisco help here. Was finally able to get the phone registered to * but whenever someone tries to call that phone it freezes and reboots itself. Same thing happens when you pick the handset up off the 7960G; it locks and reboots about 5 sec later. Here is what * shows when I plug the phone in: -- Starting Skinny session from 64.72.107.1 Device SEP000F3442E4A7 is

Hook Flapping on Cisco 7960
Hey all, I'm running * (1.0.9) with some 7960's. When I pick up the handset it often will flap on and off hook eventually hanging up on me and not realizing that I am still holding the handset. These phones are running with the SIP 7.5.0 image on a LAN (no NAT). I am not sure if this is a phone issue or an Asterisk setting. Ideas?

CIsco 7960 + asterisk: hepl needed
Dear All, I'm trying to configure my new phone Cisco 7960 to work with asterisk. I followed http://www.asteriskguru.com/tutorials/cisco_7960_ip_phone_configuration.html and I got into the point where I can see on the the display line indication showing "55 <phone icon with x>" so it looks like the phone is not registered. The phone and the asterisk are in the same local

Aastra phones and park/pickup feature
We are installing Aastra phones (480's and 57i's) into a fairly simple asterisk setup. Although call park & pickup work fine using xfer to 700 (to park), dial 701 (to pickup), we are unable to make the park/pickup softkey feature work on the aastra's. Although we've programmed the softkeys per the manuals, they seem to have no effect (just dead). For example, our 57i is

Cisco 7940/7960
This may be OT, but I can't seem to find how to do this. I have 7940/7960's with Skinny on them. When you start pressing numbers on the dialpad, you start building a number to dial. When I install SIP, that functionality goes away. You have to hit the speaker button, or lift the handset before you can start dialing. Is there a setting I am missing, or is this just a product of

Cisco7960/SCCP Transfer Help?
I have a Cisco 7960 running 7.2 of their SCCP image; I am running Asterisk 1.0.5 and using the latest Sourceforge version of SCCP2. When I make a call (or receive one) the "Transfer" softkey does not show up - as a matter of fact only 2 softkeys show up (redial & something else), but those even are not active. On a 7960 running SIP the Transfer and other buttons do show up and are

Softkey config example for Cisco 7941/7961
I found on the web that there is way to customize the softkeys for the 7941/7961 phones. In the SEP<mac>.xml there is a section called "softKeyFile" where you can specify an xml file for the softkeys. I couldn't find any examples of this softkey file or the format to this file. Does anyone have a call manager enviroment where they can look at this file and send me an

Cisco 7960 won't dial (sccp)
I'm trying to setup a couple of Cisco 7960's in asterisk. I have asterisk working fine for sip clients, and can call the 7960's just fine, but I can't seem to dial out on them. As soon as I enter the first digit, the phone attempts to dial it without waiting for the rest. I've changed timeout settings, etc but can't seem to get it to work. Any ideas? Asterisk

Cisco 6.0 + Asterisk question
I have several phones running Cisco's 6.0 SIP software release at this time. Two of the phones have not shown any abnormal behaviors, but one of them has an unsettling propensity to lock up after several hours, where the softkey labels disappear and the phone stops registering, requiring the standard *-6-settings reboot sequence. Otherwise, the phone seems to work OK except for a slight

What is the one thing that polycom can do...
On the landing page of the Polycom web site there's a "We're listening" nanosurvey, asking what is the one thing Polycom can do to improve their products. The link points here: http://polycom.zuberance.com/survey.htm I wrote a sentence about tweaking the user interface on the IP Soundpoint series phones, so that one can escape any level of any menu with repeated pressing of the

Polycom IP335
I am posting here since you guys are my last hope. I am trying to configure a Polycom Soundpoint IP 335 with MWI. Is there any way to eliminate the scrolling messages and Msgs softkey? I am trying to get it where it's just the light that indicates the new messages. I don't know if Asterisk has to send a different notification or what have you. Thanks, --Eric -------------- next

Fwd:[Vocal] Question about Cisco IP hard phones
Interesting notes on the 79xx series. The 7920 is the wireless phone; not mentioned here. For a more complete guide to Cisco's phones, see: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheets_list.html The 7902 is the "very inexpensive" Cisco phone, and it looks like it will be SCCP (Skinny) only. Cisco 7960 sccp, Skinny and 1.4
Hi All, I'm thinking of creating a new asterisk server using the latest 1.4 stable release to replace my ageing Asterisk SVN-branch-1.2-r7231 (its been a while!). My only concern - my phones are Cisco 7960's (with sccp firmware 7.2 loaded) and to support them better, I remember compiling in a skinny(?) driver to replace the (from what I could tell) basic in built sccp support. After

cisco 7960 sccp firmware version?
I have some Cisco 7960's and want to use them with SCCP - I have gotten it working with a few different firmware versions but all seem a little flakey. I know that SCCP is not as solid as SIP but am wondering, which firmware version is advised for use with chan_sccp from http://chan-sccp.sourceforge.net/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
