OT: Quad-band cellphones with wifi & stablesipsupport
Its not quad band and in my opinion doesn't perform well enough to be used for anything but basic email and phone calls. This phone, even on the newest version of firmware (Sprint) hangs when syncing with exchange to the point where you miss calls even though you tried to answer them. If you turn on wifi or Bluetooth, it simply compounds the problems. It will also require (literally) a

Open CallerID Database?
Hey Guys, I'm curious if there's an interest in a free, CallerID database? For those of you in the same spot we are, our current provider only provides us with the CND, excluding CNAM. Would creating a public database, managed by users be worthwhile to anyone? Thanks - Any input is greatly appreciated. -- Robert Norton SophMedia LLC Operations Manager Cell: 480-234-4312 Office:

Caching Caller Name
Hey Guys, Kind of an off the ball question, but I have a random idea. My voip provider supports caller id lookups, but charges a bit for each lookup. I'm thinking about writing a basic PHP script (through AGI) to cache these lookups for say 90 days. Is there an obvious problem with this? Nokia N80 and asterisk?
Recent posts indicate people have been having luck with the nokia E60/E7x phones and asterisk. I was wondering though if anyone had had any luck with the N80? I've got the N80 to register with asterisk, and that works just fine. However, it gives a 486 when I try to place SIP calls to it (either to the register username, or to the phone number). Oh, and I can't figure out how to make

WiFi Phones (was Looking for Wireless Heaset for Polycom 501)
Martin: I had seen your other post and sent you a message off-list, but I never got a response. What do you feel is the most lacking that does not make it ready for a production enviroment. - I've been using a SIP deskphone in my office and usually some sort of ATA at my house, both as the primary phone. I've also had mobile phones from almost every carrier. Each one of these devices

SV: I can hear only one way when I use nokia e-60 withX-lite
Hello Be aware that the Nokia E60, E61 and E70 does not support NAT. Just to be shure that you know that. A clever choice from Nokia, so that users has to have some local equipment from the telco. OT (semi) E60 problem
Hello again gurus. I have been using Asterisk with great results going on a couple of years now. My primary box is running asterisk 1.42 built from a tar ball on Mac OSX 10.4.9. I have a very odd issue that I cannot seem to nail down, which is related to my Nokia E60 SIP phone. I use the E60 with very good results (latest firmware) from several locations. Basically it works fine from

kind of urgent
Hi all. Can anyone comment why shouldn't we use FC 3 for an * production system? I'm not looking to start a distro war, but we just found out that redhat 9 (and FC 1) don't support SATA drives, and apparently FC 3 does. We are only familiar with red hat and are in a point in time that switching distros is not available. The guy installing the system is already on location. Yes, I

Identifying Queue on Cisco 7960
Hey Guys, I apologize for my ignorance on this one. I've got several 7960s running on Asterisk1.4 with 15 or separate queues and am trying to figure out a way to identify to the 7960s, what queue the incoming call is on? Is this possible at all? RAID 1: missing operating system
Hi all, I'm trying to setup a RAID-1 with Centos4.2 on HP Netserver E60. The raid consists of 2 9,1GB SCSI disks. The partitioning and installation process went smoothly, but after it finished and rebooting, there is an error: Missing operating system. The partition is: / /home swap Bootloader is on device md0. What could be possibly wrong? Thank you, -- Fajar Priyanto | Reg'd Linux

multi call iconenct?
Is there a service like iconnect that does allow dialing out more then one concurrent connection? Asterisk works great with iConnectHere, but they only allow one call at a time. I don't want to setup an account for each concurrent call, because it will make iConnect an expensive service, and besides, all of our calls combined doesn't reach 1000 minutes per month. Any ideas?

integrating with panasonic td-1232
Hi, Anybody have an idea how to integrate * with a Panasonic td-1232? We one at the main office, and are installing * in a branch office. We'd like to be able to make calls from * extensions to Panasonic extensions and the other way around. Making outgoing calls from extensions one one side to lines on the other would be nice too. I can put another * machine at the main office, but what is
