New tutorial: DTMF tone detection
Hello list,
I have prepared a small tutorial today that deals with how to avoid
Asterisk rebuilding DTMF tones when using it to connect industial
appliances that use DTMF. You can find it at:
http://astrecipes.net/index.php?n=248
I know it isn't everybody's piece of cake, but I thought somebody could be
interested as well :)

How to fail an AGI
I mean how do I set failure condition in AGI? My script exits with code 0
upon success, and non-zero when problems occur - the standard *nix way. But
Asterisk always report "AGI Script completed, returning 0", and AGISTATUS is
always SUCCESS.

A couple of new tutorials: installing * 1.4 and the Asterisk GUI
Hello list,
I have prepared a couple of new tutorials you may find interesting:
- Installing an Asterisk 1.4 beta system - at http://astrecipes.net/?n=216
- Installing the Digium's Asterisk GUI for 1.4 - at
http://astrecipes.net/?n=217
It's nothing too complex, but you may find them interesting, especially
the new Asterisk GUI.
Any comment is welcome - the site is a wiki, so feel

CDR datasets
Hello list,
I have been working lately on a small CDR parsing utility, and would like
to do some performance testing on it. I am looking for some - possibly
large - real-life Asterisk CDR datasets to run some performance
monitoring. Anybody's got some CDRs that can be shared?
Thanks in advance,

Asterisk and 802.11g
I'm greatly surprised when testing an Asterisk box with 802.11g. Here's the
topology:
VoIP caller --- 802.11g --- Asterisk --- 802.11g --- VoIP extension

FXO ___ PSTN extension
When I call a VoIP extension on that box (from a VoIP extension), voice is
good. But when this box tries to bridge the call with a

noise gate for asterisk?
Hi list,
I have a client with a strange requirement: putting a noise gate on the
Asterisk channel. For those who are not familiar with them, noise gates
are used in musical instruments to avoid entering low-level noise into the
amp system. What they basically do is, they measure the volume of the
channel, and when it's too low they just let the channel close, i.e send
perfect silence,

dial and bridge
Hi all,
I need some advice - I have been working on originating multiple calls
using AMI and then joining them.
What I want to do is:
- dial call 1 (where the caller is in a "channel" format, like SIp/1234 or
Local/1234 at ext) and "park" it somehow
- dial call 2 (where again the caller is in channel format) and join it to
the previous call.
As a requirement, I cannot use the

Queues monitoring software
Hello all,
A client of us, needs a queue monitoring system. In realtime he needs to now
the PRI status, the agents logged in and logged out, the number of received
calls by agent, ....,etc.
I am not a call center specialist and i want to find a call center software
to offer to my client that fits his needs.
I need a monitoring solution for incomming and outgoing calls and a queue

Agentcallbacklogin deprecation
I agree with these fella's, this is a piss poor way of fixing it. I
only know of one call center that used static agents, mostly because
they were sold a peice of crap and they had no idea how to use it the
other way. I think you will find the majority of call centers are
callback centers. This decision has taken Asterisk out of the realm of
providing reasonable call center solutions. VIVA

queue issue
I have a _very_ specific situation where I need queues to work in a very
specific manner - I need the queue to only accept one call at a time,
even though several phones are attached to it.
My memory tells me that queues might have even worked this way in the
distant past (pre 1.0)...but I am willing to be mistaken.
Is this even remotely possible?

Queues: Play a list of sound file n round-robin at a specific interval
Hi,
Anyone knows if there is a way to play a list of sound file in a round robin
mode (at specific interval) while someone in waiting in moh in a queue?
Ok, you enter a queue and wait listening to moh, every X minutes a sound file
is played from a list of sound files to be played.
If that possible and if so how?
Thanks for any pointers.

WebRTC softphone for Asterisk - any suggestion?
Hi All,
I wonder if any of you has some suggestions on which WebRTC
client/softphone to use for a click-to-dial, webpage hosted solution. Any
suggestions?
Thanks

Is it possible to define maximum talk time in a queue? ie any one who
joins a queue should not be able to talk more than say 5 minutes to
the agent.

ACD/queues question
Hi there,
Does anyone know how to setup an overflow queue? When a call rings on
the queue A, if all agents were busy, the call goes to the queue B.
If all agents in queue B were busy, then the call stays on both queues
until somebody answers it.
I think this is a basic ACD feature available on most PBX that support
ACD functionality.
Does anybody knows how to do it with asterisk??

Detect Low Quality Calls - Realtime
Hi there,
I support a large number of enterprise users who contractually must connect to
our support center via a 4G VOIP connection.
I simply want to be able to auto detect all poor quality calls in realtme (as
they are being made), play a message and drop the call - without user
intervention. All decent call quality calls will be allowed through - to be
handled by support staff.

Setting SIP header on agent calls made by a queue
Hello list,
I am trying to set a custom SIP header on all calls that are made by the app
queue because I want to track a certain state at the SIP level.
If I use the following code:
exten => s,n,SIPAddHeader(X-Unique-ID: ${UNIQUEID})
exten => s,n,Queue(myQueue)
this works fine for the FIRST call made from the queue to an agent; but if
that call does not go through, it's not repeated

Ringing sound doesn't work
Hi,
I have these extensions:
exten => 101,1,Dial(SIP/101,15)
exten => 102,1,Dial(SIP/102,15)
exten => 0,1,Dial(SIP/101&SIP/102,15,r)
They work fine and I get the ringing sound if I dial them directly. However, I
also have this extension:
exten => s,1,Answer()
exten => s,2,Background(viagenie)
exten => s,3,WaitExten()
The ringing sound doesn't work for any extension
