Voicemail prompts garbled
I'm having problems with the voicemail prompts. The beginning of each
prompt is garbled. Prompts "edian mail" and "assword" can be
recognized, but when it starts on the short phrases it is completely
garbled. It is almost like the subsequent phrase starts before the
current phrase finishes.
I have isolated the LAN to the * box and the phones, so LAN congestion

registration problem using asterisk 1.6
Hello,
I am trying to connect an asterisk 1.6 to a trunking plate forme. With
asterisk 1.4.x I added to sip.conf a line asking for registration in the
form of:
register = XXXXXXXXX at domain.com:Password:XXXXXXXXX at domain.com<assword%3AXXXXXXXXX at domain.com>
@domain.com
Unfortunately, as you can see, my usernames have to be of the form
XXXXXX at domain.com which means that I had to

Another mail_crypt question: figure out to password secure using mysql
Hello Community,
(sorry to be more busy, hence more running questions in parallel :) )
As mentioned in another post, I am testing mail_crypt plugin.
I was wondering how to really secure the process sothat even the admin
cannot have any access to the other users mail content.
My current config is simple:
- using per-folder keys (hence the per-user spaces are preserved)
- put the

Missing voicemail prompt beginning
Hello,
I am using the voicemail module of asterisk. When I did some test calls
from my mobile phone, sometimes the beginning of the prompt was missing,
e.g. instead of something like "number 12345 not available" I was only
hearing "345 not available". Verbose level 5 on the asterisk console didn't
give me any hint on this, it only shows that playback of the prompt started

Speech playback getting cut off
List,
I purchased an SPA-1001 from voipsupply.com (which was great.. no hassle), but now anytime there is silence and then Playback() sound files the first half second gets cut off. For example, when I login to the VoiceMailMain() function I don't hear "Password", I hear "-assword". Then after I login I hear "- have no messages..." instead of "YOU have no

Want new standard Asterisk prompts? Just ask!
Allison Smith has kindly agreed to add some new prompts to the "additional" prompt set for Asterisk. If you have ideas for additional stock prompts (serious or silly), please submit them:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dERsMVdGNjBwVmVGWlUzcmt3ZzJTMFE6MQ
She will record the prompts on an occasional basis and we will get them set up for download.
Thanks,

how to access my Windows Vista user folder from GNU Linux
Hi,
I have no problems whatsoever accessing and using my GNU Linux user
directory from Windows Vista, but the reverse is not true. My
/etc/samba/smb.conf has this (via testparm -s):
---<---------------cut here---------------start-------------->---
~$ testparm -s /etc/samba/smb.conf
Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf

samba-tool using domain users
!!! Regards
For example, I tried the following command:
samba-tool user create jhon p at assword -U mike
Then, the user is created without authenticate the user mike
Another command that I need execute with authentication is "samba-tool fsmo transfer".
That's all the point of an AD domain : )
If any user could make change into AD database, the product would not be
too much secure.

[Fwd: Re: VoiceMail hangup]
Hi Neofita, Doug and All.
I think I've the same problem but I don't know if it's related to the bug suggested below.
I try to explain my behavior:
- I dial the voicemail extension.
- I hear: "You have 1 new message. Press 1 for new messages, press 2 for... or # to exit" (I listen the complete message or most part of it)
- I press 1
- I can hear the first recorded message.

Clipped screen when using multiple X screens (regression) ?
Please see the Ubuntu bug report for photographs and logs of this
problem "Clipped area for multiple X screens with different dimensions":
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/331918
Thanks to some great support and suggestions in #compiz-fusion-dev I've
made some progress in trying to pin this issue down.
I've operated with compiz and multiple X screens for

clipped lines have wrong slope in log plot (PR#839)
Hi,
I'm using R version 1.2.0 (2000-12-15), on RedHat Linux 6.2 (kernel 2.2.14).
The following command ought to plot a straight-line on a log-log
graph but instead plots two line segments, both with the wrong
slope:
plot(c(1,10,100),c(100,10,1),type="l",xlim=c(1,20),ylim=c(1,20),log="xy")
Only clipped lines seem to have this problem. Changing to type "b"

Still can't get asterisk to play voicemail files occasionally
Hi all, posted this previously, but didn't get a resolution... Maybe a
rewording would help.
A few times a week I will get a call from a user who has a new voicemail,
but they cannot play it. They go through the menus, hit 1 to play the
message, and immediately the 'post message' menu prompts them to delete the
message. The actual voicemail file never gets played... This does NOT

Call quality problems
I'm having difficulty with an Asterisk system. The external party has
very good call quality, but the internal party hears clipping and drop outs.
The WAN comes in from the Cisco IAD and into a LAN switch (DLink
DGS-1005D w/ 802.1p) where the two public IPs are switched to different
devices. One device is a FireBox device controlling a separate LAN with
VPNs. The other device is eth0

German voicemail prompts, anybody?
Hi all,
I'm trying to build a little voicemail server based on asterisk here,
using Asterisk's "Commedian Mail" application. Unfortunately, I'd expect
some people to have trouble using the English prompts that come with
asterisk.
However, I can't imagine I'm the first person who has this problem, and
Commedian Mail seems to support multilingual prompts fine, it's

Voicemail prompts fuzzy and quiet
Strange issue that I can't figure out and I am hoping someone may have some
ideas. Two Asterisk boxes running 1.2.34 (yeah I know it is old, but it
runs like a top and I am not going to mess with it). *B rsyncs config from
*A. *A dies. I bring up *B and it all works fine, except for one issue.
Calls to voicemail are garbled and low. Phone to phone and phone to gateway
work perfect. If I

Disappearing voicemail
Asterisk 1.2, Fedora Core 4:
When I leave a voicemail message, it writes the necessary files to the INBOX:
msg0000.gsm
msg0000.txt
msg0000.wav
msg0000.WAV
When I hang up, the files are erased. There is no indication of anything
untoward in the logs:
-- x=0, open writing: [...]/INBOX/msg0000 format: wav49, 0x99ce778
-- x=1, open writing: [...]/INBOX/msg0000 format:
