asterisk load balance
Hi, I am designing a asterisk load balancing model as follow. There are 3 asterisks connected to a single DB and a single server storing all the configuration file and voicemail. Round Robin DNS will distribute the request to asterisks. DNS round robin ---+ asterisk1--------------------------+ DB and file server +---asterisk2-----------------------+

auto load SIP peers on startup
Hi all, we use OpenSER together with Asterisk. All SIP users registers with OpenSER and asterisk is doing the voicemail thing. We use the Asterisk RealtimeArchitecture for voicemail users and SIP peers. The database table for the sip peers is a view from the OpenSER subscriber table. The MWI for a user will only work, if the user object (sip peer) is loaded into memory and visible with the CLI

dial plan logic
Just starting to enjoy the full features of asterisk, I do have a couple questions though, that I can't seem to find answers for in the wiki, just wondering if someone could light my way. after a caller has made their choice of options in the dial plan, I would like them to be placed on "hold" (music, not ringing) while the system processes through the rest of the dial plan

Reading Voicemail Config from MySQL
Hi all, I have been trying to get my asterisk (v1.2.10) to lookup voicemail config data from my mysql database as opposed to voicemail.conf + sip.conf for my users. Users register with SER and get passed through to asterisk when they dial out. I followed the instructions as per http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+voicemail+database so basically I have 1) Build asterisk-addons-1.2.5 and

Voicemail, SQL & ODBC
Is the storage of actual voicemail messages in a database still limited to ODBC? If so, why? And is the use of mySQL and ODBC at the same time still a bad idea? If so, why? I want to store all of my voicemail stuff in a database so that I can give users web access to it, but I don't want to run web services on my * server itself. If it is all in a DB, I can have a web box and a

when I press "transfer" -> blind -> 700 . The user is not able to hear what extension the call was parked on
I am using Polycom 501s with asterisk 1.2.4. When transfering to call parking wih "#1" -> 700 the user is able to hear asterisk tell him what extension the call was parked on. However, when I press "transfer" -> blind -> 700 . The user is not able to hear what extension the call was parked on. It seems like the polycom is hanging up before asterisk is able to

Where to best start looking for voicemail/moh sound quality problem?
I'm running Asterisk 1.2.13 on a Solaris 10 X86 box behind an IPCop firewall on a 5Mbps down/512 up cable connection. I'm having sound quality problems when users call in for voicemail and with music on hold. The sound is choppy and muffled while souding pretty good for calls inside the network. I'd appreciate some pointers as to where to start looking to improve things. I've

MySQL replication for voicemail
Hi - We've got a number of offices, and they're all using ODBC message storage using MySQL. I've been trying to get MySQL replication set up so messages left in a voicemail box at one office will get copied to the corresponding voicemail box at all the offices. We're also using MySQL replication for the voicemail user info, and that part works just fine. I'd like to

ODBC Voicemail WEB Retrieval
Ok. I was sucessful in installing ODBC storage I'm using MySQL in the backend as it is. but all my drivers are now ODBC. I am running asterisk-cvs head as of last night 9/19/05 My question is this... the old voicemail.cgi script that allowed checking voicemail no longer works etc, and never did work for me without a static voicemail.conf file. Anyways.. that aside... how does one retrieve

Integrating with Toshiba Strata DK40i KSU
We've done a direct swap of an old Amanda voicemail system with a shiney new Asterisk system (Asterisk 1.0.9). The system consists of 4 FXO ports on the * box (TDM400P), and three old Wildcards we aren't using (too buggy we found). CO lines-> Toshiba -> FXO ports on * We want to branch out a little more and use it as an auto-attendant. The first problem seems to be an asterisk

Voicemail personalised greetings using DB/IMAP backend?
Hi all, I am attempting to build a horizontally scalable Asterisk deployment and am getting very close to achieving that goal. With Asterisk 1.4 I now have an IMAP backend for Voicemail messages which is great as users can check the same messages either through the voice portal or using Webmail. However, I'm not sure the best way of dealing with personalised greetings such as a

Easiest (best?) linux distribution for dedicated Asterisk box?
First off, I'm sorry for sending so many messages to the list-serv. Hopefully this will be my last for a while! I was going to use my WRT54G router as a small Asterisk box, but I forgot that I had a spare eMachines computer (Intel Celeron 633 MHz, 20GB HD, 64mb RAM). Will this machine work OK for a very simple dedicated home Asterisk box? Also, what is easiest linux distribution to use and

Asterisk 1.4.4 VoiceMail ODBC Storage Help
Hi All, I have an issue with the ODBC voicemail storage option with asterisk. All appears to work fine, however, I get several sql execute warnings. I was wondering if anyone out there could help me get to the bottom of what is causing this and how I could possibly go about rectifying it. The warning message we are getting is as follows: WARNING[30115]: app_voicemail.c:1280 delete_file: SQL
