What ATA should I buy?
I have running * without any Digium (or any other) hardware. Now I need to connect analog FAX machine to it. I think that cheapest and easiest way is to buy ATA. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Now, which ATA should I buy? Local dealer sells those four. I can buy something else (if there is any reason for it), but I prefer something of this.
One more question, can I plug two lines in any of

Home Test!
Hi everybody!
I'm from Argentina, so you'll have to sorry me for my English.
I have a Linux box with asterisk and want to buy an ATA.
Fist, I thought about the Grandstream HandyTone but I read some
reviews which says that it has a lot of echo. Some people recommended
me Sipura 2000 but I don't know what to do. Now I just to make some
tests at home and see what happens and if it works

T.38 ATA
Hello all !
Can anyone recommend me ATA device that REALLY has T.38 built in.
So far I have heard of Telco Systems Access201, which seems to be
impossible to bye in Europe (all resselers are droped Telco systems ATAs for
some reason (tried in Germany and in UK so far)), and I have heard that
SIPURA SPA-2100 should have T.38 built in into newer firmware, but I wasn't
able to confirm that

Cisco ATA 186 and Asterisk
Anyone have call waiting working on the ATA-186 connected to Asterisk?
Other VoIP phones seem to work, but I can not get the ATAs to allow call
waiting.

T.38 faxing with spandsp and Grandstream HT.486
Hello !
I 'm trying T.38 faxig with spandsp using rxfax/txfax as fax terminal.
As another endpoint I 'm using Grandstream HT 486 ATA and a fax machine.
Has anybody success with the HT486 as T.38 terminal ?
ATA as originator: I managed only onetimes a successfull T.38 fax
session. The other times the HT486 did not initiate a re-invite with
T.38 parameters. Or shall the Terminator

ATA with reliable FAX?
I am looking for an ATA that has had very reliable results when passing FAX
over IP. I was thinking of testing the Cisco (not Linksys) ATA 186 I1, ATA
186 I2, ATA 188 I1. This is what I'm looking for:
FAX -> PTSN -> through Asterisk -> ATA -> Fax Machine.
I have QoS from PSTN entry to ATA on the network so I can assure precedence.
What has everyone out there been using

Anyone know of a pass through ATA
Anyone know of a company that makes a pass through ATA?
By pass through I mean have an Ethernet switch built into the ATA, like most
desktop phones have.
All of the dual ethernet ATA's I have seen have WAN/LAN ports, not two LAN
ports.
I fooled around with DMZ etc...but it just doesn't work as well.

new ATA box for sale by Linksys
Fry's Electronics has a new Linksys 2 line ATA box for sale for $59.99
retail. They have a version with a router for $89.99. We picked the
non-router version up and it seems to be a rebadged Sipura SPA-2000. The
box has a Vonage service package inside as well, but it does work with other
services.
The box also has a "User Guide" meant for end-users that is very well

Reverse-ATA : Using PSTN lines to connect to Asterisk
Hi,
I'm looking for a few pointers on using ATA to connect Asterisk to the PSTN.
Basically, I'm running a Hosted PBX service, and in urban centers I can
usually get SIP or PRIs. Since I sell my customers SIP hardphones, the data
flow is like this:
Customer's SIP Hardphone ---- My own Asterisk ----- Outside lines
But when it comes to smaller villages (I deal with people in tiny

Best ATA. Period.
Any opinions on the best ATA?
For example, if someone was having a problem and I wanted to rule out
any ATA glitches or firmware issues, what device could I give them that
I could count on to always be a trouble free top performer that just
plain works?

VoiPSupply Dot Com
I tried calling their toll free number and toll number last week in the
morning and afternoon and was handed a recording saying this number is no
longer in service. The web site was up but there was no message on the site
as to why the phone numbers were not working.
I just called the number now and it is working.
Being around the internet for a quite a long time this gives me an uneasy

yet another faxing issue (outbound only, via ATA)
2 Asterisk servers 1.2.12.1
Connected via IAX2, same switch, GigE, no packet loss, etc
1 with a Sangoma A101 for a PRI to the PSTN
Ulaw
QoS enabled
NAT for the registered ATA boxes, no nat between the * servers
Faxing inbound:
Call from PRI hits the first Asterisk server
Then talks to the 2nd via IAX2
NVFaxDetect receives the fax, converts to PDF and emails it out
Works great!

ATA that actually work with T.38
Hi,
I am implementing T.38, and finding a problem getting boxes that work
with T.38 for testing. A lot (maybe most) ATAs now claim to support
T.38, but I'm finding a lot of these lie. I have one box here that just
crashes when it hears a fax tone. :-)
I'm looking for boxes known to implement T.38 properly, and which really
work in the real world.

sipura ata 3000 UK (BT) CAllerid
Hi
I wonder whether anyone got the Sipura ata 3000 to decode British
Telecoms callerid and pass it to asterisk?
The userguide seems to suggest that this is not possible, is that right?

Grandstream Budgetone mass deployment?
Hello!
I am considering mass deployment of Budgetones 102. According to their
website, remote provisioning (configuration via TFTP) is possible.
Anyone has experience with this? Is this really working?

ATA shootout: PAP2T versus Grandstream Handytone 286
I'm considering a situation where I buy about twenty ATA devices.
I've played with the Linksys / Cisco PAP2T, and got that working fine
with some inbound and outbound faxing. The web GUI was okay. I'm
seeing prices around $45 to $50 for this thing. It comes with two FXS
ports, but I only need one FXS.
I've seen the Grandstream Handytone 286 online. It looks promising as

FXO ATA?
Is the Sipura 3000 the only way to interface a remote pstn line and connect
incoming calls to Asterisk? I have a location connected by network that has
a phone line, when the room is occupied I want the line ti ring there as
normal, but when the employee is travelling I want the line to be conencted
to a ATA that then feeds it as an incoming pstn line to the pbx located at
my office so it can
