SNOM loses server registration
Hello to all When my SNOM (300 or 320) loses Internet connectivity, it loses its Asterisk registration (ok, thats normal). But when the phone is back online, he doesn't try to register in Asterisk. I believe this happens to avoid flooding the private LANs when the Internet link is lost.... but the problem is that the phones don't try to re-register in the future.... Sometimes it stays

Billing solution
Can anyone recommend a call accounting solution with rating for post paid billing that works well with asterisk using the account code or any other info from the CDR? I don't want the billing software to any phone calls for me, therefore any solution that modifies my extensions.conf is out, nor does it have to allow for customers the ability to log in to check their usage/balances. I have

OT: Unblocking bloced CID
Hello list, I know this has been brought up before but I dont think there was ever a final answer. Is it legal in the US to modify asterisk to show the CID information that was received as blocked ? Thanks. Dovid p.s. Sorry for the poor typing format, it was written from a mobile phone. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam

Logging passwords on auth failure/dealing with botnets
Hi, Since upgrading our mail servers to Postfix/Dovecot, we've seen a rather large increase in botnet brute force password attacks. I guess our old servers were too slow to suit their needs. Now, when they hit upon a valid user, it's easy to see what passwords they are trying (we've enabled auth_debug_passwords and set auth_verbose_passwords = plain). We can easily have log

Call Center and Predictive dialing
I know this question has been asked a lot before, but please I would like to know from personal experience. I'm looking to use Asterisk in a call center environment, where most of the calls will be outbound calls. They will have at start 100 agents. I have looked at vicidial and looks promising, however I would like to hear from users what they use and how they like it compared to other

voicemail use external smtp server for sendingmail
I had the same question, and I want to make sure I'm clear..... This implies to me that Asterisk itself doesn't use SMTP, but rather dumps a message into some directory that Sendmail on the same box will see and process? I have no problem getting Sendmail to use a smarthost, but am I understanding the Asterisk part of this properly, or is there a way to get Asterisk to DIRECTLY use a

Does anyone know when thease will be released and what they will cost when released? Thanks!
