DTMF Sporadicaly Being Generated
I just wanted to see if any one else has seen this or could help point me in
the right direction on this problem.
I have a TE411P card in my * box. I am running FC4 x86_64. I used to have
two TE110 cards in the same box that worked without any problems. Since
changing to the TE411P cards, I am getting random DTMF tones being produced
on a bridged connection through the same Channel Bank that I

E400P vs te410p vs te411p
Hi,
I found E400P quad PRI card quite cheap (749USD):
http://www.govarion.com/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=2&osCsid=68cdd6e3d08754
in comparison to te410p (approx 1500 USD )
http://www.digium.com/index.php?menu=product_detail&category=hardware&product=TE410P
Now newer generation with HW echo canceling emerged (te411p).
I'm not sure in what things those two cards

Samba 3.0.11 on Red Hat RHAS3
To answer my own question of a week or so ago, as to whether RHAS3 users
had got 3.0.11 to compile and execute (I had a plethora of errors):
The Red Hat 3.0.11 SRPM from the Samba site compiled cleanly and runs fine
(daemons and utilities) on my RHAS3 test rig, and on a RHAS3 update 4
production NAS server doubling as a Samba 3 server with 1150+ users of
Unix/Linux and soon PDC Windows services.

Suggestions for mainstream hardware compatible with TE411P.
I checked the list of what not to use, but am still having no
fun trying to find a working box. Can someone suggest a Compaq or Dell or
MPC or . any other brand and model that is known to work well with the
TE411P ? Will an old Proliant do?

TE410P upgrade to TE411P => (solution to) no more fax carrier detection !
I changed from a TE410P to a TE411P and fax carriers weren't detected
anymore !
I have tried everything (recompile zaptel+asterisk+spandsp ;
echocancel=yes/no ; rxgain=0/txgain=0 ; increase Wait() ; ...), nothing
worked.
The only solution that worked for me was to install and use NVFaxDetect.

Official TE411P echo settings??
I have seen conflicting references in regards to the Digium Wildcard TE411P echo settings in zapata.conf.
Does anyone have the official word on this?
Should echo cancel be enabled in zapata.conf if the card has built in EC?
If so, should a particular EC method be compiled into the zaptel build?
My reference, which has echo:
My zaptel is 1.2.5

Asterisk 1.0.9: TE411P replacement for TE410P 1stgen causes crashes
Hi all,
I replaced a TE410P Rev C 1st Generation Firmware with a TE411P
without any cfg changes (zaptel/zapata).
As a result Asterisk crashes on outbound from PRI4 going to PRI1 calls:

TE411P Really Bad Echo ORION
The Orion echo canceller is just ok. The Tellabs units work just as well if you don't mind 10 mins of soldering.
I have the orion running with an adit 600 and a TE110P. Echo cancel is fairly good, but I have loads of problems with DTMF digits.

TE411P Really Bad Echo
I just implemented a system using a TE411P hardware echo cancellation
card. Per Digium, I setup zaptel.conf, and zapata.conf the same way as
I always have. To my surprise calls out to the PSTN had a terrible
echo. 1 - 2 second delay, and quite clear. The echo was so bad that I
had to remove the hardware echo cancellation module from the card. We
are only using the 1st span of this card right

TE411P zapata.conf, monitoring echo cancellation and echo tail size
Hi all,
1. Just bought a new TE411P and about to install it replacing the existing
TE410P. I am assuming I need to set echocancel=no and
echocancelwhenbridged=no now that it will be done in hardware, correct?
2. Is there any way to monitor hardware echo cancellation to ensure it is
working (apart from being on a call)?
3. The Digium webite says "By supporting 16ms with 128 channels or

Asterisk for "Man-In-The-Middle" Trunk Side Call Recording?
[Cross-posted to the asterisk forums, so if it seems familiar...]
My company is looking to implement 100% recording of inbound and outbound
calls. We're pondering using Asterisk as a trunk-side monitoring system
sitting between our Avaya Definity switch and our mixed bag of 6 T1 and PRI
circuits. I've read with interest Matt Roth's thread on the Asterisk mailing
list, however, since

Brief silence followed by DTMF tone on T1 line
Every once in a while calls get interrupted with a brief silence
followed by a DTMF tone on our T1 lines. We are using a TE411P card. It
does not happen on SIP connections, just the T1. Has anyone experienced
this or know a possible cause?
Thanks,

Dell PowerEdge 1650

Anyone have a 1650 running successfully in production mode with 2-4
PRI's? I want to make sure I don't have a motherboard compatibility
problem before I buy one of these. We are going to be using a Digium
TE210P to start off with and probably moving to the TE411P down the
road aways?
thanks,

Suggestion about Heartbeat
I have a suggestion about the heartbeat and the way that "downed node" detection works.
There are occasions where a node is up, and for whatever reason, I need to power cycle it (for instance, a frozen process, etc). In these instances, my other nodes are unable to perform file system operations until the heartbeat period expires. This ends up being somewhere around 30-60 seconds (this

Transfer calls from cellphone
Hello,
Avaya has a nice feature that allows you to
a) ring both a cellphone and a desktop phone at the same time
b) transfer calls (and access other PBX features) from the cellphone that recieved the call, as long as the call is bridged through the PBX
c) while talking on the cellphone, pick up the handset on your desktop phone and the call is automatically moved there, hanging up the cellphone
