Cisco 7960 + SIP
Hello all, I know this isn't strictly Asterisk, but I'm sure that there are more people here using the Cisco 7960 w/ SIP, so I thought I'd post here. I've just bought a Cisco 7960 phone to use with Asterisk. It came with the CallManager image on it. I've got the 4.4 SIP images (P0S3-04-4-00). If I put "P0S3-04-4-00" in the OS79XX.TXT file, the phone downloads this

7960 Cisco SIP Phone TFTP Files
Hi all (is a bit of a Cisco question, but perhaps it's already been asked here). I'm trying to setup a TFTP server for dynamic configuration of my 7960 Cisco phones. Cisco docs suggest I download the following files from their web site: * OS79XX.TXT * SIPDefaultGeneric.cnf * SIPConfigGeneric.cnf * RINGLIST.DAT * P0S3xxyy.bin * P0S3-xx-y-zz.bin * dialplan.xml * syncinfo.xml I only

Cisco 7960 tftp question
Hello, and thank you for your time answering my question. I have a Cisco 7960 running SIP firmware POS3-06-X-XX. If I want to upload SIP configurations via *.cnf file from my tftp server, do I need to include the OS79XX.TXT and P0S3-06-X-XX.bin to the tftp server root directory to be uploaded every time the phone reboots? Thanks again for your help. Oliver

Snom200 -> C7960 noisy?
When a Snom 200 (v2.1l) calls a C7960 (v4.4), both using g711u as default, the conversation is extremely noisy from the Snom to the Cisco, but clear in the reverse direction. Using a sniffer, I see packets from the Snom to the Cisco of 87 bytes and Cisco to Snom of 214 bytes. Asterisk is CVS from Saturday. The communications between the two was working fine on Saturday, however something has

Re: Problem converting a Cisco 7960 to SIP
Hello all, I've got myself into a bizzare situation that I can't seem to get myself out of... Was wondering if anyone had some advice that might get me 'over the hill' on this... Some background: PBX consists of an Asterisk box (running TrixBox), 4 Cisco 7960's, 2 Polycom IP500's, and now an additional Cisco 7960. The phones are all on a separate LAN. There is

Continuance on Polycom issue, not ringing
Ok, so I emailed the list earlier about my polycom phone not ringing when anyone called in. Well, polycom support said that is impossible that this could happen because of a change in a configuration file. However the new phone arrived today (a refurb.) and it also would not ring. So I obviously got rather frustrated and blasted away all of my configuration files from the FTP server. I then copied

7960 Not Picking up new firmware.
G'Day All. So I got the TFTP server all set up -thanks to much help from this list- the 7960 found it and updated to SIP the first firmware P0S30200. What I am now trying to do is upgrate through all the versions, as recommended, to the latest version, P003-07-3-00. I thought this would be accomplished by simply changing the sole line in the OS79XX.TXT file to P0S30203 and reboot the phone.

Cisco 7960 upgrades
Hi, I got a problem of having to upgrade 35 Cisco 7960 phones from default firmware of 3.1 to 7.5. The problem I get is that when trying to upgrade I see on the tftplog that it can't seem to find the file (8 character issue). So I renamed the files to suit what is supposed to be in them. I am trying incremental upgrades from 3.1 -> 5.3 -> 7.5, with no luck. It goes to

Cisco 7960 firmware upgrade promblems
I have a second-hand 7960 which I am attempting to upgrade to use a SIP image. The phone currently has a firmware release which doesn't seem to be listed in Cisco docs - P003AM30. On reboot, it finds the tftp server and requests the firmware image listed in OX79XX.txt correctly, displaying "Upgrading Software" on the screen. It then continues to re-request the same image from the

rtp sound quality?
pstn -> sip gw -> * -> C7960 When I dial into * via the pstn, I hear the ivr menu just fine (good quality). I press 3000 (valid extn), and I begin to hear ringing however the ring back is very very choppy. I answer the C7960, and speech is clear in both directions. Place the C7960 extn on hold, and the MOH is very choppy. Checking 'sip show channels' indicates both the sip gw
