Asterisk 0.7.1 RPMS Updated to Rel 4
Neo: What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets? Morpheus: No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to. There have been over 500 downloads of the RedHat Asterisk RPMS since they were released 2 weeks ago, and I have received many comments to improve them. After some late night hacking this weekend, I have dropped 0.7.1 release 4 RPMS at

Asterisk RPMS for RH9 + RH7.3
Hello all, It's my birthday today, so as my present I would like everyone possible to download and test my updated set of RPMS for Asterisk 0.7.1. By popular request, I installed and built a set of RPMS for RedHat 9.0, and in the process fixed a bunch of issues from the initial build. I have also updated and will be maintaining a page on the Asterisk Wiki located at:

TE405P w/ Intel SE7210TP1_E Motherboard
Hello, I'm looking at building a couple new PRI Gateway boxes using TE405P cards, and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences (good or bad) with the Intel SE7210TP1_E motherboards from Intel. General Technics builds some really nice (and cost effective) 1U servers based on the board: Server: http://www.gtweb.net/gt637.html Specs:

Debian Unstable Claims Asterisk 1.0-1
Howdy, I just did an "apt-get dist-upgrade" on my Debian unstable box, and noticed that the Asterisk version appears to be 1.0-1 in the unstable tree. I KNOW that 1.0 hasn't been released yet, so I am wondering who is responsible for the Debian packages? This will be VERY VERY confusing for people and it should be corrected ASAP. -rw-rw-r-- 1 1176 1176 1189696 Jun 7

Asterisk 0.7.1 RH 7.3 RPMS Released
Hello all, Per my last message to the list, and my promise to the Developers that I'd create RPMS if they released 0.7.0, I would like to announce the availability of experimental RPMS for Asterisk release 0.7.1. These are targeted at RedHat 7.3 systems, running the latest Kernel release (2.4.20-28.7). As the RPMS mature and people submit comments, changes, updates and patches, I will

help create asterisk cookbook
I have not yet seen this article posted to this list, so I thought many of us would be interested in having a look at this project sponsored by O'Reilly: http://www.oreillynet.com/etel/blog/2007/01/help_create_the_asterisk_cookb.html It seems they are looking for both problems and solutions, and I'm sure we'll have plenty :) l. -- Loway Research - Home of QueueMetrics

Ohio Linuxfest 2004 Presentation
Hello, On Saturday, Oct 2nd 2004, I did a 45 minute presentation on Asterisk to the Ohio Linuxfest. Roughly 350 people attended, and I think I spoke with nearly all of them at some time during the day. N2Net had an Asterisk PBX running on a Laptop w/ a pair of SNOM 200 Phones setup for people to play with. When all was said and done, nearly 800 incoming/outgoing calls were made through the

GrandStream 1.0.4.55 Firmware
Hello, Anyone using the 1.0.4.55 firmware release with any success? I have had my Budgetone running 1.0.4.50 for about a month and a half now with no problems whatsoever, and I am a little leary about upgrading. -- Vice President of N2Net, a New Age Consulting Service, Inc. [Asterisk-Dev] Memory Leak in Stable?
Hello, I have a client that has a fairly small installation (20 SIP Phones) that is running Stable. Asterisk appears to be consuming large quantities of memory, and growing uncontrollably to the point where after about 6 weeks the box starts to swap itself to death. I've been keeping my eye on it today, and in the last 12 hours, it has grown by about 8 megabytes, and there has been

Dialstatus Oddity in 1.2
Hello all, I am working on a creating some intelligent failover dial-plan logic and I'm running into something that I'd like some feedback on. Basically, it appears that if you place a call to an IAX2 peer that refuses the connection, or is unavailable, a NOANSWER dialstatus is returned. Example: -- Executing Macro("IAX2/cubix-19",

"Fixing the Caller-ID Problem", by John Todd for O'ReillyNet
This seems like a piece members of this list would find interesting... === There is growing concern over the interaction of VoIP systems with the legacy PSTN, and the transmission of caller identity data--most notably, Caller ID on the PSTN. It is not always possible, or obvious how, to handle Caller ID data when moving to or from VoIP and the PSTN networks. There are even business models

Polycom IP 500 Dial Issues
Hello, I have a mixture of Polycom SP IP 500 and 300 phones. I have been reading through the administration manual to try and solve this problem, but I do not seem to be able to find the answers to my question. I figured I would ask here and see if anyone has some suggestions. The problem is kind of annoying. After dialing 4 digits, the phone seems to pause and miss the 5th digit, often

Polycom IP 300/500 Conferencing Behavior
Hello, I've got a mixture of SPIP 300 and 500 phones in production for various clients. I've got the XML settings configured for local conferencing, but I'm not seeing the expected behavior from the phone when I attempt to conference two calls together. According to the manual, while talking to the first party, you simply hit Conference, dial the second party and then Conference

The Smallest Asterisk Server Ever?
Hello all, Saturday night, after a couple of shots of bourbon, I realized that I had an old PC sitting in the garage that I could use as an Asterisk gateway if I just blew the dust off it and reloaded it with a modern Linux distribution. In my characteristically impulsive manner, I grabbed it and started cleaning it up so that I could put it in my office without my wife having a fit. The

Centos 4.3 Issues
Hello, I was wondering if anyone out there is successfully running Asterisk 1.2 svn w/ Centos 4.3. I had an experience over the last two weeks that has me scratching my head and muttering strange things in the wee hours of the morning. I am going to try and be as descriptive as my brain will allow right now, but if there is something that I do not cover, please do not hesitate to ask and
