First time asterisk installation problem
Hi all,
I am trying to install asterisk on my system, the compiplation and
installation process all seem to work fine (make ; make install ; make
samples).
But astersik fails to start. Is the sample configs not supposed to
work out of the box?
Even more confusing, it seems to fail at different points every time I
start it, but this is probobly because of threads starting differently
or something?

Installing Asterisk on Mandrake 10.1 Official
I have a pretty basic Mandrake 10.2 w/KDE 3.2 and I installed Asterisk-1.0.1-2mdk. I installed the source of main and contrib from ftp, so at the install time I accepted all the packages needed to be installed too.
The installation went smooth, but when I try to execute asterisk (#asterisk -vvv) I encounter few warnings I end with an error. At this point I didn't touch any conf file, I was

Getting started woes and an archive question
Hi All,
I am a newbie and having some trouble getting Asterisk to work.
I have checked out zapata zaptel libpri and asterisk (both v1-0_stable
and regular--in separate directories). All built according to the
documentation I have found and installed correctly.
I have modified/created zaptel.conf zapata.conf as attached.
I get the following messages/error during asterisk startup.

Upgrade to the newest cvs now asterisk will notstart
Looking at the error I tried moving chan_modem* out of the modules
folder and asterisk started and its working again...
Not sure what changed in the chan_modem_i4l.so but removing it from the
folder fixed my problem.

wildcard/FXO config
Trying to config the latest Asterisk/zaptel with an Digium Wildcard and a
single X100m FXO interface connected to a POTS analog line.
Build and install of both work ok - I'm using Suse 8 on a dual Pentium box. I load
the driver with "modprobe wctdm" and the LED on the wildcard lights up. Then I start
Asterisk with "asterisk -vvvgc" and asterisk fails to start.

installing asterisk for Ubuntu Synaptic
I have an Ubuntu system and went into Synaptic and checked asterisk for
installation. Once installed, I started it with /usr/sbin/asterisk -vvvgc
and got the following output with several errors and notices. Do I need to
do more or are these ok? I expected to have some conf files in
/etc/asterisk but there is nothing there.
Thanks!

Drop calls when using Flash Operator Panel
Whenever I try to drag calls to the Parking Lot or On Hold, FOP would
drop my calls. I have searched online and have found
similar problem, such as the link below. I have tried their solution
but still the FOP is not working correctly. I even installed the
HUDLite server and is getting the same results.

CDR on MySQL
What would it do if you
exten => h,1,ResetCDR(w)
exten => h,2,NoCDR()
exten => h,3,DEADAGI(get-unqiueid.php)
I have not tried it but in theory it should write the first CDR and then
kill the write of the second NO ANSWER CDR.
Let me know if it works for you as I may need to do it on some of my h
exten code as well.

capi dial in/out configuration
Hi all,
I've recentrly starting to play around with *, when all I wanted is to
configure an fritz ISDN card with A@H.
Currently I'm stuck at the phase of what do I do with capi after
everything is installed.
I'm trying to understand how to setup incoming and outgoing calls at A@H
since I'm getting a bit lost with the default dial plan.
It seems that * answers but disconnect
