A little off topic but for packet 8 users out there using asterisk behind a x100p check out the new firmware http://www.dslreports.com/r0/download/872826~6e5c593b26b72aef4bf68f6710e ed5b8/sip1315unl.zip Allows you to assign your own codecs, currently using g711 90kbs and sounds amazing in comparison to the g729 30kbs that's standard. VoIP service recommendation
I am planning to sign up for a VoIP service in the U.S. Can anyone recommend anything cheap, reliable and good quality? I want to use it for my primary house phone (I also own a cell phone). I also want the service to be asterisk friendly so I can play with it :-) Thanks in advance. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

It starts to become a non-responsive from time to time with 100% cpu usage eventhough there is no applications running except a browser. It starts to exhibit this behaviour a cople of days ago. I could not figure it out the reason and need

Problem with CVS working over Samba
Hello everyone, Currently I'm using Samba as a bridge between my Unix files and my windows XP client and it works just fine. But I'm having a problem with using CVS on my Windows XP client. I don't want to have two separate copies of my source files - one copy on my unix box and another copy on my Windows XP client and use CVS to manage two copies of the same sources in different

why does the server needs to have the client's host file
First I have the say TINC is great. it is the only one that I found fits my needs. I use it to create a virtual network for parallel computing using computers around labs and campus. i have a question though. suppose we work as a server A and client B setting. it is necessary for the client B to have the host file of the server A so that B knows where to find A. but why would A need to have the

aastra 9133i DTMF tones
Hey - I know there's some other people out there that have the 9133i ... has anyone gotten the DTMF tones to work after the far side picks up? I didn't have any problems out of the box with my SPA-841 phones... the aastra has been nicer so far, but I can't seem to get it to dial the touch tones after an auto-answer device picks up on the far side... I googled, to no avail. -Karl

IE and the activeX security warning
I''ve been testing my page, which not only includes my new slider code but the drag and drop code as well. a few more questions...
Hello everyone, I sent the last email prematurely - I had a few more questions. I don't wish to start a holy war here, but are there certain OSs / Distros that are preferred for running very busy icecast servers? We're a Solaris shop currently, but don't mind using linux or BSD if that would make things easier. I see there is a Fedora Core RPM on the icecast page - does that

can a class find out it''s instance name?
Hi friends - a javascript question.... Does the prototype object add some way for a class to find out the variable name of its instance variable? Or does javascript have some built in way to do this? This is confusing to describe - but if I define a variable as some object: var myVariable= new Widget(''fdfa''); can some built-in method inside the Widget class be

Hi, I have a little situation here :( I have an Asterisk working, and in another office, a Sipura SPA-3000. I configured the SPA and I have the extension working, the incomming trunk working, but the outgoing trunk (peer) does not work. The issue is that I have a dynamic IP where the SPA is, and neither the SPA nor my router have DynamicDNS. So, if I
