Linksys PAP2 / RT31P2 + multiple G.729 calls
Hi,
anyone can confirm if the Linksys's ATA and Router (PAP2-NA and
RT31P2-NA) have the same limitation of just one G.729 call like the
Cisco ATA 186 ?
I'm testing both appliances here and found this issue but could not
confirm this anywhere (nothing on the manual, no document or post from
any user about this).
In my tests they use G.729 only on the first call and G.711 on the

chan_unical-MFC/R2 CPU usage problem
Hi All,
I have installed chan_unicall and MFC/R2 successfully, and is runnign fine.
But I noticed that once unicall is installed, asterisk CPU usage as reported by 'top', jumps to 99% every few seconds.
I have no incoming calls, and I have even removed the E1 lines from card and I tried almost everything possible but I was not successful in determining the cause of this high cpu

Problem with Avaya 4602 / SIP response 481
I have an Avaya 4602 IP phone that was previously working with Asterisk. It
was being used elsewhere for several months, and I recently set it up again
to work with Asterisk. Everything works fine for several minutes -- I am
able to receive and make calls as expected. However, after a few minutes,
and every few minutes thereafter, I get the following message on the
console:

How do i "talk" to the IAXy...? (Newbie Alert)
Hi,
hoping that experienced hands will quickly show me the right way: after a
fruitless web search i am turning to this list with my rather elementary
question: is there any other way to communicate with the IAXy besides using
special utility software that needs to be compiled under UNIX?
Here is the story: about two months ago, after some not very satisfactory
attempts at using SIP (my phone

Soyo G668 + Asterisk
Hello
Has anyone been able to get the Soyo G668 phone to work with Asterisk? I've been playing with it for two days and I haven't had any luck. I've got a soft IP phone(xten) to work fine. If anyone has a sample config page that would be great. Thanks
Aaron

Avaya 4620/4640 SIP firmware
Does anybody know if Avaya has a test SIP firmware available for 4620 and
4640 IP phones? The 46xx SIP image from their website is a combo download
with SIP for the 4602, and h323 for the the 4620 and 4640.
It looks like they demo'd a SIP image for the 4640 as far back as 2004:

Avaya firmware
I attempted to update an Avaya 4602 phone to the latest SIP firmware and
now the phone stops at the bootloader. It keeps requesting an
appsip.ebin file from my HTTP server and is no longer checking my TFTP
server for update files. Since no appsip.ebin file was included in the
firmware update provided by Avaya, I have no idea where I am supposed to
get this file. And also since it is no

off-topic: Avaya 46xx, release 032207 ... help
Hi,
I am trying to use an Avaya 4602 phone, which I just updated from a
very old SIP software to the latest I could find on avaya's site
(032207). The upgrade went fine and it gets registered on the Asterisk
server.
Now, a couple of glitches, though.
- The phone's web server is not working ... so I have no easy way to
configure it. It used to work with the old release of the software. I

Aastra phone # key in dialplan
I want to use extension numbers that begin with the # key in my dialplan,
but I can't get my Aastra phone (6731i) to transmit the # key to asterisk.
It works fine for the * key.
I've tried numerous Local Dial Plan patterns in the aastra web configuration
but none of them worked. My current Local dial Plan pattern is
"x+#|xx+*|#x+". Any help would be appreciated.

Successfully Using $135 Avaya sip phone
I think I am the first to use the $135 Avaya 4602 SIP phone, but I
need some support from the community to fix one problem I have with
it.
The phone stops working after about 20-30mins if I have
mailbox=context in Asterisk; when I do have mailbox=contect in
asterisk the sip debug returns "481 extension does not exist."
Anyone willing to help me figure out why?
I.E. Is it an Asterisk

Asterisk and Avaya IP phones
The company I work for has deployed an Avaya IP phone system. They have
deployed the Avaya 4602 and 4620 IP telephones. They might be sending
me one of these phones for use in my home office.
Question: Can I make this IP telephone register and work with my
Asterisk server? I don't know if it is a SIP phone? I searched thru
the Avaya site, but can't find whether it's a SIP phone or

Ah, ok, the wording in 5.10 change log is a little ambiguous then...It
seems to imply (to me at least) that http support was added to
pxelinux.0 with an old TCP stack, but lpxelinux.0 has http with a new
TCP stack.

I'm having problems getting my aastra 480i to register with the asterisk
server. I can inititate calls from the phone, but >sip show peers does not
show any IP address registered for this phone. I am probably missing
something stupidly simple. Anyone have an example config to share or
