Cisco 7960 Line rollover for secretary's phone.
Hi folks. I attempting to set up a Cisco 7960 (SIP) so that if the user is on a call, other incoming calls will ring through to her phone and can be answered. So far I have only been able to get this working by using the call-waiting function, which is cumbersome and does not properly allow the first call to be retreived. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks in advance. John Mensel

SIP Phone Recommendations?
Hi all. I'm in the process of putting together a new Asterisk system as a proof-of-concept, and wanted to see which SIP phones all of you had the best luck using with Asterisk. ?I've just come off a very trying experience with some Cisco 7960s, and am looking for something else to round out the phones on our network. This is a small setup, for no more than 20 users total. ?We need at

7960 TFTP
Are there any known issues with Cisco 7960s and any particular TFTP daemons? I cannot seem to get mine to speak to a Linux box, but Solarwinds under Windows works like a charm. Re: Problem converting a Cisco 7960 to SIP
Hello all, I've got myself into a bizzare situation that I can't seem to get myself out of... Was wondering if anyone had some advice that might get me 'over the hill' on this... Some background: PBX consists of an Asterisk box (running TrixBox), 4 Cisco 7960's, 2 Polycom IP500's, and now an additional Cisco 7960. The phones are all on a separate LAN. There is

Cisco 7960 become UNREACHABLE behind pix firewall
Hi, I have about 10 Cisco 7960s behind a PIX 506E (IOS v6.3) firewall. After some period of time, asterisk says that some of them are unreachable, and the phones lose their registration. The only way to make the phones recover is to clear the NAT translation tables for the phones on the PIX (clear xlate...) Does anyone know how to fix this? As you can imagine, it is quite annoying. And it does not

chan_sccp2 & 7960 -- documentation and example request.
Can someone provide example configuration files and/or instructions for configuring Asterisk to work with chan_sccp2 and a 7960. I have the searched the chan_sccp2 site, the voip_info wiki site, asterisk doc project, and mailing list archives for the past year for help, but failed to find anything helpful. Some of the questions I have are: 1. What settings need to be made on the phone? 2.

Cisco 7960 SIP speed dial
I'm having great success using Cisco 7960s with Asterisk but one Cisco 7960 specific function that's puzzling me is programming the 'line buttons' (6 buttons on the upper right side of the phone) for speed dial. I'm not using any Cisco applications like Call Manager and the phones are SIP. *All* of the documentation I've found over the last several days continues to refer

Cisco 7960 phones.
I have found a phone that I wish I had not! This is by far the worst phone to setup. I have finally upgraded it to Sip but once this got done it I am not able to get it unlocked so I can enter the rest of the settings. So if anyone out there can tell me how to setup my DNS server to tell it where the tftp is located (Windows 2000 DNS server) or please let me have the default password. I called

zfs drive keeps failing between export and import
I have a zpool that consists for a two-drive mirror. The two times I took the zpool offline, I had to resilver one of the drives (the same drive both times) when I imported it back. All drives in the pool show no read, write, or checksum errors and are new, so I'm looking to a software problem before hardware. Both drives are encrypted geli devices. I tried to reproduce the error with 1GB

Identifying Queue on Cisco 7960
Hey Guys, I apologize for my ignorance on this one. I've got several 7960s running on Asterisk1.4 with 15 or separate queues and am trying to figure out a way to identify to the 7960s, what queue the incoming call is on? Is this possible at all? Logging on the rsync server from a client connect

I need to know if the following is possible. I'm rsyncing from the client and connecting with ssh to an rsync server. I can connect just fine and the files go with no problem. I'm going from a RedHat 7.3 with rsync

OpenSSH performance with VIA padlock
Hello list, please spend a minute considering these facts and maybe there is something to improve: 1) VIA Eden based board can write AES256 encrypted information on HDD at > 60MB/s 2) iperf shows NIC speed 69MB/s 3) openssl tests have even better results 4) openssh can transfer AES256 encrypted information at < 27MB/s (and worse with HDD encryption) It is better with openssh 5.x, than

Cisco 7940/7960 XML application hint
I don't know if this is already common knowledge, and it's not specificly for Asterisk, but if you are using Cisco phones and want to roll XML applications, make sure you have "Connection: close" in your HTTP header. Without it screen loads are very sluggish. In PHP, do: header("Connection: close"); I whipped up quick-and-dirty PHP/MySQL/Cisco XML directory and
