I want to connect it to asterisk server but it looks that it has been preloaded with sccp protocol, so I guess I need H.323 or SIP firmware image of some kind. Hi, How well to the Cisco 7905G or Cisco 7912G phone work with Asterisk? Cisco claims both phones do SIP. I was strongly considering Polycom phones. I recently got a 7905G w/ Sip software preloaded. I got it working w/ asterisk with no problem setting it up through the phone. I am now trying to make it download the config file from the tftp server. I have set all of the options in the file and the file is definately named correctly. Maybe not the place for this but thought I'd post the info for others. I purchased a cisco 7960 off ebay and needed to convert to SIP for *. I know * supports SCCP but I wont go into that here. I'd read on voip-info.org that a contract could be purchased for approx $8 to allow me to download the firmware. I though, being in the UK, i'd get one through a reseller in the UK.

I was able to upgrade one of them with the SIP image, the other hang up during the upgrade process and now it won't boot again.
