fax soft client
I emailed this before but never got a reply, maybe there have been some new technical developments. I understand that the AMP/A@H now allows faxes to be received via a software solution but I'm interested, is there a way to send faxes using software? Maybe something like a SIP or IAX software client that can be run on a XP pc to initiate the call to an asterisk server? Cheers, Dean

FW: FAQ missing info? Asterisk@home V 0.4
Just installed V 0.4 of asterisk@home Programmed up 3 sip budgetone extensions, they call call each other fine. Tried to dial '9' for an outside line through an X100P to a packet8 ATA but got 'all circuits are busy now'. Here is the console output. == Spawn extension (from-internal, h, 1) exited non-zero on 'SIP/30-8d25' -- Executing

Asterisk@home .05 release questions on setup.
Hello, Great job on the Asterisk@home project. Looks great this new version is really nicer looking. But I have a few questions. 1) For the new web access http://localIP/maint how and where do I change the password. 2) Since I don't use the Amp section for setup the .conf files I use my own. How do I get the asterisk server running status up. I have it running and works but shows up as not

Upgrade *@home to CVS-HEAD
Hi I installed *@home 0.6 to play with the system, and learn. I tried AMP but didn't like it and so set forth into the conf files manually. I have it all set up how I want, all my extensions work etc. Reading this list and playing in the wiki and google, I get the impression *@home is great for learning, but has a few limitiations. I would like to upgrade my box to the latest stable cvs

RE: E164 updater Client
Hi Asterisk users/e164 developers, I have had an idea on how to improve the functionality of the E164 service. The idea is that when I'm no longer at my house I actually want to receive calls at another number So I have a small software client on my windows desktop and I tell it I'm no longer here I'm going to be on my mobile (similar to the no-ip.com dns updater I use) The client

Asterisk@home festival weather report
This script was developed by Mark Johnson. All I did (Dean Collins) was type up the instructions and make it easy to understand. This Script will allow you to dial and extension number on your Asterisk@home V0.6 or later pabx and have it read you the weather for your city How it does this is; 1/ When you dial your extension it causes the weather.agi script to run 2/ This makes the program

Am I missing something really basic here?????helpwith Asterisk@home {Scanned}
Ok, I thought the point of asterisk@home was that it automatically detected the X100P board and configured it correctly. Is this incorrect? You still need to modify /etc/zaptel files? And not just using the AMP configurator. There is no mention of this on the Asterisk@home webpage. Can anyone who has actually used ast6erisk@home confirm this one way or the other? Thanks, Dean

Re: Two companies - One Asterisk
Because you learn how asterisk works by looking at the AMP dial plan fast. With phpconfig you have the ability to view each of the aspects and learn a lot faster than reading the wiki. It also gives you an understanding on how a professional dial plan should be laid out. If he doesn't even understand how to do grouping he obviously hasn't even read the most basic sections of the wiki.

Features you'd like to see in a GUI?
Sherwood, Your intentions are noble and your desire to build this, fullfills an immediate need for business. If your intention is just to build a GUI for Asterisk, read no further. If your desire is to build something more purposeful, your best bet would be to see the existing commercial GUI/HostedPBX offerings like Pbxware and Switchware from bicomsystems.com ( http://www.bicomsystems.com)

Presence and IM?
We have been running Asterisk for about a month now and one of the things I miss the most is the ability to se who's online and available and who's not. Surely, there's the manager interface, but unless you'd want to install extra software on each client computer, this is not a good option. Then there's the presence / IM function in SIP. Since we're only using SIP

different IAX ports for different contexts
I have a problem with my asterisk@home installation (configured with AMP) My question is this, can you have different ports for different contexts within IAX? [Faktortel] port = 5036 ; Port to bind to bindaddr = 0.0.0.0 ; Address to bind to context = default ; Default for incoming calls allow=all ; Allow all codecs register => XXXXX:XXXXX@iax.faktotel.com/EXTEN

*@Home .6 adding a outside number to a group{Scanned}
Actually, I love my install of AAH 0.6. When something is not available in AMP I just dive into the configs and correct it. Most of the little things ARE available in AMP though so those times are few...
