ztdummy compile again
Hi, I'm still strugling with getting an easy to use conference system implemented. I did have app_conference running, but today I upgraded asterisk to 1.0.9 and it stopped working. I've tried following the instructions for compiling app_conference on 1.0.7 but it didn't work. So I went back to ztdummy (I've not had any luck getting this to compile on FC2). Anyhoo, I've

Connect attempt rejected error message
Hello, This is an odd one. My brother has installed iaxcomm on his notebook. He connects to the internet through a WiFi gateway (using DHCP). So, it's probably a one-way connection (and I think this may be part of the problem). Anyway, iaxcomm registers with the Asterisk server correctly and I see the period refresh of the positive authentication. He can receive calls fine. But,

Fedora Core 6 (FC6) and Asterisk-1.2.13 and Zaptel-1.2.10 compile problems

Zaptel won't compile under Fedora Core 4
I hope someone can offer me some help with this. Basically, the current CVS version of Zaptel will not compile under Fedora Core 4. I have closely followed the directions in http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+Fedora+Core+3 using the versions given in the FC4 distro with no luck. Here's the output when I run "make linux26". Any help would be great. TIA.

Ugly echo cancel, with Bristuff/Zaphfc
I'm using bristuffed Asterisk with ISDN/ZAPHFC I have VERY ugly (outgoing) sound through ISDN/HFC if echocancel=yes in zapata.conf, but without echocancel I have bad (incoming) echo Through PSTN/FXO sound is ok with or without echocancel. I tried other echo cancellers (in zconfig.h) two times: ECHO_CAN_KB1 (this was default) ECHO_CAN_MARK2 ECHO_CAN_MG2 after any change I compiled (make

zaptel-1.4.0-beta2 Getting it to compile on Fedora Core 6 _64bit
I keep running into the dead end that it can't find config.h in the source tree. It looks like newer kernels don't use it anymore. Someone ran into this awhile back when compiling 1.2 and it looks as though the issue was never resolved. Any ideas? Last time I tried this, I was on fedora core 5 64bit and all went well. It's not working on this newer setup Any ideas on what I can do

partition table Cent4RC1
I just installed CentRC1 on a Dell gx150 as a test. I'm running into the same problem I had with Fc3. I get a partition table error when trying to use ghost8 to create an image. I was considering putting Cent4 on a ProliantDL380, FC3 installed on that machine but wouldn't boot up, stuck on Grub. I had FC2 on the Proliant but when FC2 went to the 2.6 kernel, it hung up on the Nash prompt.

FC2 zaptel compile failure
I've got a fresh FC2 install and I'm trying to get the symlinks right according to the /usr/src/zaptel/README.Linux26 instructions. I've created two symlinks: /usr/src/linux-2.6 -> /usr/src/linux-2.6.5-1.358 /lib/modules/linux-2.6 -> /lib/modules/2.6.7-1.494.2.2 When I do a "make linux26", I get a million warnings and errors with the result being: make[2]: ***

fc5 and link to sources?
Just installed fc5, installed correct kernel source, and trying to compile zaptel-1.2. Changed the link in /lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5 to point to /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES. Like: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 May 12 15:21 build -> /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES A 'make install' still complains with: make -C /lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5/build SUBDIRS=/usr/src/zaptel-1.2 modules make[1]:

Missing rpms for samba-ldap script
I was pointed to: http://web.vcs.u52.k12.me.us/linux/smbldap/ As an effective script to get samba/ldap configured for a PDC. It is written for Fedora 3 core or the K12LTSP distro. of course I discovered this after installing the Centos distro. Now it is decision time: stay with Centos and get this working or move the the K12 distro. This setup is for the small business network in my basement

I've trashed my install
I upgraded from FC2 to FC3 and it broke the sym links to a: and the cdrom. I couldn't get them back, then I deleted c: and z:, promptly asking myself "why did you just do that they worked fine" The funny thing is my /mnt is empty, I can pop a CD in and it finds it but what did FC3 do with the entries in /mnt? I looked for the setup tool that I read was in ./tool but can't find

kind of urgent
Hi all. Can anyone comment why shouldn't we use FC 3 for an * production system? I'm not looking to start a distro war, but we just found out that redhat 9 (and FC 1) don't support SATA drives, and apparently FC 3 does. We are only familiar with red hat and are in a point in time that switching distros is not available. The guy installing the system is already on location. Yes, I

Contemplating Move
Hello, all. New to list. I hope this isn't an FAQ. I looked at the FAQs I could find, and didn't see it. I am doing contract work, and was requested to install FC2 on my machine (last October). Since doing that, I have tentatively concluded that the Fedora Core Project is more or less beta test, and not really suitable for development work. Please anyone correct me if I am wrong. So I

Soft phones that _actually_ work under Linux?
Surely there has to be one soft phone that works under Linux. I've tried: kphone - it sometimes complains about the need to release the sound device linphone - sssssssslllllllllooooooooowwwwwww iaxcomm - needs some strange widgets various others - either only supplied as binaries, or just plain don't work, or won't compile. Is there just one out there that is guaranteed to work with

Echo worsens in 0.7.1
Just updated from CVS 12-23-03 to tarbal 0.7.1. Identical settings in zconfig.h for echo cancellation (MARK2, aggressive OFF). The echo got worse, much worse. It takes longer to train and overspeak now disables cancellation, which it did not before. In fact, I now have echo on VoIP to VoIP on our local network, which I never had before. Was something changed with the echo supression which

Where do my RPMs actually go, and is it different for Red Hat builds?
I'm trying to install themes for KDE. In doing so, I came across the following web site which seems to have the themes I want as RPMs: http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/17/dept/3/idg/User+Interface_Desktop The theme I want is called "Thinkeramik", and it has the following versions, for various Red Hat builds: thinkeramik-3.2.1-1.0.el3.kde.i386.rpm RedHat EL 3
