Re: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 2, Issue 281
Now that most of you have worked overtime to show why most people are
continually pissed at Nix Users (all except two of course). The problem I
can see is the downright technosnobbery involved. There is nothing wrong
with Linux. I play around with RH9 and FreeBSD and find that most things
run fine. But you get into a problem where it keeps asking for the same
blamed libraries over and over on

Polynomial Approximation with Exponential Kernel
I'm trying to find an R package that will smooth a line with the "polynomial
approximation with exponential kernel" or "PAEK" algorithm that is used in
ESRI's ArcGIS software. I have a copy of the original paper that provides
the algorithm, but I'm not confident in how to code it. The algorithm will
smooth a polyline's vertices at a user specified distance

Getting Started without Rails
Hi, everyone. I am in the process of learning Ruby. I''ve concluded that there are couple of quirks with mod_ruby that are limiting me a fair bit, so I''m looking for an alternative. From what I''ve read, Mongrel is The Answer. However, this has left me with a few questions.
I''m looking for some help getting a non-rails Mongrel started... I can''t

R-help Digest, Vol 121, Issue 5
On R 2.15.2 and ArcGIS 9.3.1, it works for me in ArcCatalog but you have to follow the particulars here:
http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.3/index.cfm?TopicName=Accessing_delimited_text_file_data
For example:
write.table(test, '***.tab', sep = '\t', row.names = F)
The extension .tab and sep = '\t' are required for text files. Didn't test row.names=T but I

queue_log question: which endpoint was connected?
Hello list,
as I'm writing a little perl parser for queue_log analysis, I'd like to
know *which* telephone answered a specific queue call. Unfortunately
app_queue only logs the call id but does not log the call end point. This
is okay for SIP endpoints, because their call id is something like
SIP/endpointname-1234 so you can reasonably understand who was on
answering, but for

Key Card Access software
We have http://www.cansec.com/ based prox readers and port servers but the software
is a joke. It doesn't run as a service, so the server must be logged in at the console.
Anyone use anything Linux based they can vouch for?
Thanks!

Agent in multiple queues?
Hi,
What do I need to do to put an agent into two queues? The idea being
that the agent will get the call no matter which queue it comes into?

queue issue
Hi,
I have several queues configured at my call center for different support levels.
Today, something weird happened:
- A client called queue 1 and was answered by an agent
- The agent transferred the call to an user (not a queue), by dialing the atxtransfer (1) key defined in features.conf
- The user transferred the client to another Queue, by using the second channel and the XFer key of her

queue_log
Anyone know how to get app_queue to send logs to MySQL or
any other sql server.
I found info for cdr's and even configs but nothing on
queue_log.
If sql is not supported in the current app_queue I will be
willing to pay someone to add it.

Reading an ArcGIS raster file
Dear members,
How can I read and plot an ArcGIS raster file into R ? The file has extension .aux and contains floating point bathymetry data. The purpose is to create a spatial model in R that uses ArcGIS map data. I have managed to read and plot various shape files into my R project, but I am stuck with this now. I am new to this list and also to R, so any help would be much appreciated.

AEL Question
Hi, all. I'm making my first foray into AEL. I'm starting with a
simple macro, but I've already encountered an odd behaviour. I'm
wondering if someone can shed some insight:

Lost connection to MySQL server during query
I just downloaded and installed Ruby on Rails to a Win XP SP1 OS using
XAMPP.
I started going through the beginner tutorials at rubyonrails.org. It
appears as though Ruby on Rails is operating properly until I try to
access the MySQL database I created for it. Then the browser displays a
detailed statement created by Ruby. It is titled:
ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid in Recipe#New

Asterisk URL and Callcenter Apps
Guys.
How do those callcenter apps work with Asterisk where a call comes in and *
send a URL and some screen popup up based on callerid or something or
username or id and shows all the customers info?
Anybody done that? What do you need to do that?
If you are using ATAs or IP Phones, how do those integrate with the PC so
the screen would popup?

Manager API commands QueueStatus and Queues
Hello,
I'm trying to write a php script that issues the QueueStatus and Queues
manager API commands to Asterisk and records the returned event data
into a MySQL table.
On voip-info.org, I see that QueueStatus returns such things as Queue,
Max, Calls, Holdtime, Completed, Abandoned, ServiceLevel, and
ServiceLevelPerf. However, there are no descriptions for these values.
I've tried

Upper limit to numeric user IDs?
I am still in the familiarisation and testing phase of my puppet
implementation, and have a question for the enlightened:
Is there an upper limit to the numeric user ID that puppet recognises?
Here is what I have so far:
System is RHEL4, puppet 0.23.1
All users are defined in LDAP rather than in /etc/password, and their
numeric user IDs are sourced from LDAP as well. These numeric IDs

Asterisks, Sip to Local PRI/PTSN issue
Alright I've been having an issue when trying to dial out locally when
coming from SIP. This used to work no problem, now it doesn't. Now the
local PRI to Bell Is working fine I have calls coming in and out of it
constantly right now. BUT if I try and make a local call from SIP (from
X-Lite or one of our Linksys SPA2102s) It fails every time with errors
like these

Cisco 7940 log on/off
Hi All,
Anyone know if theres a way to share a Cisco 7940 between hot-desk
users?
My phones get their setup via SIP .cnf files, that load at boot via
tftp, so I'm assuming the configs a failry static. However if I want a
phone to be hot-desked, I could have different users sitting there. Is
there any concept of "logging on" in these environments?
Cheers,
Adrian

Center for Internet Security FreeBSD benchmark
Hello everyone,
CIS (http://www.cisecurity.org) is a non-profit that develops security
benchmarks and scoring tools for free distribution. We have a project
underway to create a FreeBSD benchmark which would be used extensively in
the federal government and private business.
However, we need some additional FreeBSD experts to help us drive the
project. Until recently, Rich Murphy was helping
