Asterisk, Hylafax and T38Modem - help!
Hi All,
I know that this may not strictly be an asterisk issue, but if anyone has
any ideas on this prob it would be appreciated.
I have a working asterisk setup using Suse 9.1, a BT ISDN BRI card
(Fritz?), sipura 3000 and a few cisco 7940's. I wanted to do add faxing
into the equation, so I thought I would try and setup the following:
PSTN->asterisk->hylafax->pc

* and Fax
Hi,
I think this is one area that needs to be developed. I am curently
implementing a system for my home so cannot really justify the cost of
financially supporting the development of this when all I really need to
do is buy a telephone extension lead for my existing fax modem!!!
I am more than willing to devote some testing/documentation time (I am not
really a programmer) if that helps.

Advice on ISDN and Asterisk in the UK
Hello all
What I'm looking for is some plain speaking advice on ISDN.
Currently using 4 analog lines connecting via a four port TDM400P FXO card. We need to physically move our installations, and on requesting the analog lines be moved - our telco (BT) is suggesting we replace our analog lines with ISDN2. We would have 3 x ISDN2 connections, giving us six voice channels. They've

Asterisk + ISDN BRI - gateway or card?
Hi All,
Has anyone had experiences with Asterisk and ISDN Gateways or cards? I am
looking to setup a home phone system using asterisk and am looking to
convert my two existing no's to a single isdn2e line.
I was wandering if anyone could recommend which is better to use with
asterisk - ISDN Card or gateway? also which brands are best with
linux/asterisk? I have used eicon BRI cards for

Mitel 5010
Does anyone know if this phone can or does work with Asterisk ? I have a
potential client who wants to throw away their current mitel ip system
(keeps crashing on a regular basis - not good for a phone-based company),
but are reluctant to purchase new handsets.
Thanks.
Julian.

Which Primary ISDN card to use in Europe ?
Hi,
I'd kindly ask for any advices, experiences and opinions on what Primary
(and also several BRI) cards should be used on EuroISDN and Asterisk ?
I'm also curious what features do these cards offer regarding echo
cancellation (mostly when calling from analog lines) ?
Thanks in advance,
regards,
Rob.

Mitel 5010 +5220
I know this is not strictly an asterisk issue but it is related I guess.
Just to let you know that after many calls to Mitel the consensus is that
they will be releasing a new version of the 5220 that is dual boot (minet
and SIP) next week or the week after. This firmware will only appear on
NEW phones manufactured after the release date (no one could confirm but
the 23rd of sept was

Poor man's High Availability solution
Hi,
I'm wondering what the best option to obtain a high availability
asterisk server is.
I currently use a TE410P (4 x E1) card.
I'm thinking of 2 different solutions:
- 2 servers configured with Heartbeat + DRBD (drbd mainly for
voicemail....) and the E1 span plugged to the 2 servers (with a TE410P
in each server).
- 2 servers configures with Heartbeat + DRBD with the E1 span hooked

how can PRI, BRI and analog cards achieve a synchronous clock / timing
hello list,
i have a problem regarding the synchronisity (clock source) when using
multiple cards.
e.g. when having connected one PRI port of our TE410P to the telco, i
need to have the analog card like the TDM400P or a B410P synchronous to
the clock of our telco provider. otherwise faxing on the analog cards
does not work or i get cracking noise or even hangups on my BRI lines,
due to bit slips.

Asterisk and Panasonic KX-TD1232
Hello
We have around 50 phones in our company, and I am playing with the
thought to gradually go over to using sip services and ip-phones
internally. However at first I would liked the Asterisk just to sit
between the phone line and the Panaosnic, so I can take out one
lin/number at a time to use ip phones.
I am new to Asterisk, and haven't done much configuring of the PBX
either. So I also

Newbie: ISDN E1 the same in all countries?
Hi.
I'm looking at ordering a 30-channel ISDN connection from telia (a swedish
operator) and then using a Wildcard TE110P card with that and asterisk to do
IVR.
Can I be certain that the TE110P card will work with that ISDN connection? A
30 channel ISDN certainly sounds like an E1 connection, but I couldn't get
any clear answers from the operator if
it is.
Has anyone used the TE110P

PCI32 and PCI-X compatibility
Hi,
this is my 1st message, I'm writing to ask if anyone knows if a PCI32
card like the TDM400P (quad analog) or the B410P (quad BRI) is working
on a PCI-X bus, at 100MHz or 133 MHz. I'm really stuck with this, since
I found a partial "yes" on this mailing list but my supplier says "no"!
Thanks,
Marco

Hardware question
Hello,
Again one more question about hardware.
What could you suggest me to buy.
I need hardware to connect let's say 4 analog lines. (FXO).
This hardware should "talk" to Asterisk of course..
Thanks very much for some advices :)

GSM phones, bluetooth and general happiness
When I installed my first home-PBX three years ago, I was looking at
"cellsockets" -- devices which will accept certain cellular phones and
provide an RJ11 jack, generating the ring-voltage and recognizing DTMF,
which in turn makes your cell-phone look like a CO line. Pretty cool
stuff, in theory, but it just didn't seem to be worth the cost,
especially since it locks you to a

Cisco 7940 - SCCP or SIP?
Hi All
I have recently downloaded Asterisk and was so impressed I thought I would
setup a home server and I went out and got myself a couple of cisco
7940's. (and a sipaura 3000!). thanks to various posts on this list and
the voip-info site I have managed to get chan_sccp setup and working with
the 7940's but the I tried to get the messages, services and softkeys
working. It seems

Cisco 7940? I'm following the directions outlined by Cisco. Is there a
trick that I'm missing?
Clues welcome.

Cisco 79XX SIP Ring Tones
Hi all,
Has anyone gotten custom ring tones to work using ALERT_INFO with the
Cisco 7940 SIP phone? I've read the wiki, but just can't get this to
work. I'm currently using the 7.2 SIP image.
Thanks,

ISDN BRI hardware
Hi,
Anybody have lots of experience with PCI ISDN cards and Asterisk? I'm
thinking of getting a BRI in my house to deliver more advanced signaling to
my PBX (yes, I'm a geek :-)) but I've never played with isdn4linux.
Is there any particular BRI card that works better with Asterisk than any
other?
Also, can the BRI interface cards participate in conference, etc., since
they

Anybody using TE410P on BT ISDN with DAHDI?
Is anybody else using the following combination:
* a TE410P card (wct4xxp driver)
* a BT ISDN connection
* DAHDI 2.3.0.1
* Asterisk 1.6.2.9
I'm trying to configure a new box to replace a legacy system (same hardware;
some old version of Asterisk with Zaptel; works lovely but hopelessly
out-of-date) and not having much joy. Specifically, I couldn't get it to
