SER vs Asterisk for SIP
Why is SER considered a better SIPserver than asterisk , why is it that SER can handle more clients than asterisk can. And if this is just cause of say poor SIP handling code in asterisk then is there anything being done to fix it. Just wanted to know why SER claims to be better than asterisk as a SIP server. ? -- regards Vikram (http://www.vicramresearch.com)

Connecting 20+ asterisk servers together
I have 20+ asterisk servers and need to network them together so a phone on any of the servers can call a phone on any other server without any trouble. I can think of IAX trunks between every server. So every server will have an IAX trunk to every server and then prefix bases routing in the dialplan for each server (I can give a number to each server and use that as a prefix for that server).

Can anyone suggest me asterisk compatible E1 cards which would work on R2. Also if anyone on this list is from INDIA and uses asterisk and E1 lines please let me know what type of cards (which vendor) do you use and what

Asterisk Versions
Hi all, Assuming 1.0.7 is the latest stable version, how/where can I find out the different CVS revisions available and a description of what has been patched/updated in each CVS revision so I can decide whether to leave my 1.0.7 installation as is, or if I need (or think I need) to patch it with a CVS version? Thanks, Waldo

Sourceforge CVS
The Shorewall CVS repository is now safely ensconced at Sourceforge. http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=22587 Please note that unlike with the old repository here at shorewall.net, at Sourceforge there is a delay in updating the ViewCVS (web) copy of the repository. As a consequence, developer commits are not immediately available for browsing with ViewCVS

viewcvs interface
I've added a web interface to the cvs repository (viewcvs). I find this is pretty handy for tracking changes or pointing people at files for reference. Just follow the browse link at the top of the main cvs page: http://www.xiph.org/cvs.html We used to have an (undocumented, I think) cvsweb interface, but it looks like it didn't make it to the new server. Viewcvs is better,

I've pulled the plug on viewcvs
While trying to get other work done on Motherfish-II, I couldn't help but notice that machine load was over *200*, due entirely to the viewCVS CGI. Either we were being DoSed via the cgi, or it's too inefficient to even think about using. Motherfish is a server intended for *core services only*. We've been steadily forgetting that. Core services include CVS, mail and web. They
