Autocompleter.Local problem/desparate plea for help...
I have been trying to write a selector function for Autocompleter.Local that will show a predefined Array and will scroll automatically to the first match. I have had success with with getting my list to populate and show all of the choices, however I cannot get it to scroll to the first match. Since I build the JS Array I can know exactly how many items are in the list going into my selector,

Do Not Call List
The US has a Do Not Call list to which people can subscribe to prevent being called by advertisers. Federal laws (strengthened by some state and more local laws) assign penalties for calling people/phones on the DNCL. Is there a query gateway that Asterisk (or an app using Asterisk) can filter through to ensure a number is OK to call (not on the list) before calling it? -- (C) Matthew Rubenstein

List of telemarketers??
Does anyone know if there is a known list of telemarketers? Something like http://whocalled.us/ with an easier access? We could all benefit if there was such a thing :-) If there is enough interest, I could put up a database that everyone can benefit from. I just need some suggestions on: (1) Adding new numbers based on community responses (some rule to sanity check) (2) Method that everyone

telemarketing application
Hi, I have the following requirements I'd like to implement with asterisk: 1. Asterisk notifies interested PC's on the network that there's an incoming call so that the telemarketing app can bring up the customer automagically 2. If a telemarketer makes a call and the customer isn't there and they arrange a callback, the callback is diverted to the originating telemarketers phone

Festival Installation - Asterisk 1.0-RC2 && Debian Woody
Hey All, Thought I'd take a bash at trying to get Festival to work here on my lab system with the aim of using it to create our IVR menu prompts. I've spent most of the afternoon searching through the Wiki, the Festival website and Google and I've got a couple of questions. First one is that the 'Asterisk+festival+installation' page on the Wiki mentions the RedHat 9 RPMs

iP0020 Phone busy signal all the time.
Hello to you all. Just got my first iP0020 phone and no matter what I do to it when I try to call I get a busy signal even though Asterisk and the phone web gui shows that the phone is "registered". Has any body had any similar experience with this type of phone (or nay phone)? William Herrera LAN/WAN Technical Consultant LAN Solutions <http://www.lan-solutions.net/>

asterisk-wide variables
Dear all, I have an Asterisk box serving as gateway to a set of POTS phones that all share the same telephone number, and I register this box as gateway to a H.323 gatekeeper with the telephone number as the gateway prefix. I am wondering if there is a way to have Asterisk-wide (perhaps to be called 'universal') variables that can be used in all config files. As far as I know, now e.g.

Results of 13 month study on reducing telemarketing calls
Hello-- I've been playing with the privacy options on my home/home-office system since August last year, and have some results, gleaned from my CDR records, which over the last 13 months, number a total of 8672, which includes incoming, as well as outgoing calls. Before I start spitting out numbers, let me note that with the current setup, I haven't had to tell a single telemarketer

Direct MP3 channel Black Hole?
I'm curious is it possible to direct a call to an extension that takes you straight to music on hold, but NOT the standard music on hold. The boss suggested something he wondered if it was possible. Example: Someone calls (Telemarketer), we answer tell them to hold while we 'redirect' them to extension (Someone Important) 666 which is a separate music on hold pool of mp3's from

Newbie just starting out with *
Hey all...I'm brand new to * and I want to convert my home into a pbx type setup. I've figured out that I want a Wildcard X100P to bring my single POTS CO into my Linux box. My problem is that I'm sure sure what I need to do to get my analog phones connected up into a structured phone system. It *looks* like I can go the route of the Cisco Analog -> VOIP for about $100 on ebay.

Automating blacklists
Hi, I've been reading all I can on Google (and Asterisk TFOT book) looking for ideas on how to implement an automated blacklist feature. I would like to automatically blacklist a incoming number based on timestamp and count information. For example, if I get a prank call from the same number 5 times within 15 minutes, I want my dialplan to automatically blacklist this number. Should I be

11.21,2 : how to transfer to Jolly Roger ?
I'd like to transfer all my pesky telemarketing calls to Jolly Roger . http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/25/fashion/a-robot-that-has-fun-at-telemarketers-expense.html In the middle of a call I'd hit some DTMF sequence, which would dial Jolly Roger and transfer the call after Jolly Roger answers. But blindtransfer requires an extension after you hear "transfer". And I don't

900# DID?
Here's a question I haven't seen asked nor answered on this list: Is there a provider who offers incoming 900# services? I want to establish a 900# to be used in (about 60-70) domain registrations, to deter telemarketers from calling yet still comply with ICANN requirements for a valid phone number. Alternatively, does anyone know of a source for super-low cost DIDs (like free

Win2k(IIS5) + Samba weirdness
Hi all; I don't know if this is a specificly a Samba problem, so appologies if this is a little OT. Anyhow, I have a Windows 2000 Server (SP2) running IIS5 hosting a number of web sites. The content itself is housed on a RH 7.1 Linux box running Samba 2.2.2, which Windows mounts. Now, occasionly when going anywhere beneath the root of a web site IIS reports a 404 error (NTFileMon

AEC params
Hi: By 'no success', I mean result gets worse in terms that, there comes in a shrill noise with high gain and also *no* attenuation of the echo. I am trying to validate the DC offset part. But can you please feed some light on how does the DC offset matter for AEC. As I have already mentioned, I tried adding silence (from 2 ms to 10 ms) in the start of the reference signal. This is for

Help - is voip good for in-house calls?
Hi there everyone! I work at an office where we plant to have about 12-15 phone extensions. Costs of PBX are cheaper, but they are not expandable and, as the office is brand new, I want to use all modern stuff. My question is: if I buy 12-15 Grandstream Budgetone 101 phones, and install and asterisk server, as well as a Digium TDM400 for POTS access, will I have the same voice quality and

Telemarketer GSM?
does anyone have a recorder GSM file that emulates the Telco's "if you are a telemarketer please hangup now" recording? I don't see one in the sounds dir. the ZapATEller works great for computerized callers but if a human hears this message asking them to go away they have to. Isn't that right? Dave
