asterisk-update script - and the script - Fixed typo
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,
Here's a version I modified which grabs either a development or stable
verision, and does a backup before updating from CVS. It also asks for
addon's and cc.
Leif Madsen did the original development and Mark released it.
My changes does the minimum changes to previous version, to get what I need.
It does the same version checking as the

Correct way to update Asterisk
Pardon the newbie post. I installed Asterisk on a "test" system using
the Asterisk@home cd image. When you boot from Asterisk@home is installs
an O/S and Asterisk on your PC. How cool is that. But I was wondering if
someone could point me in the right direction for updating the version
that I have.
I'm new to CVS, how do I determine what version to build? Is there a
primer on how to

Cannot transfer after queue agent picks up c all
I had the same problem with snom 190 phones.
Using the transfer with # instead of "Transfer Button on the phone" worked
for me.
In my configuration "REFER" was not send, so the transfer with the button on
the phone did not work.

LiveVoip is Bankrupt - Why this thread
I agree with that fact the same questions get posted, but that problem
is compounded by the fact the archives are not really searchable. If the
were as lease some users would search.
The archives need to be fully indexed.

Inbound IAX2 calls has no music on hold
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hmm,
My music on hold has always worked fine. But I discovered that under incoming
IAX2 calls they don't get any MOH! All I could find was a comment saying let
me know if you find a solution... Nor does the debugger does say:
Started music on hold
So it's not starting the MOH, why? I do have it configured and it does play

Cannot transfer after queue agent picks up call
I have not been able to find anything that relates to this problem. The agents
are using Cisco phones.
Calls goes into a queue. but once an agent picks it up it cannot be
transferred. However if they call directly to the agents extension it's not a
problem transferring calls.
It sounds like a misconfiguration but I cannot see what's wrong. Any takers?

VoIP experiences with Cable and DSL
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
A thought occurred to me;
Background;
In the early days of cable, the cable people seemed clueless to things like
over selling bandwidth. But as time went along they got it better and better
under control.
Of course their natural competitor, DSL, created a bigger demand for them to
get things under control.
Today cable is often giving

Zhone + Digium T1 bug (?)
We were just testing forwarding one of our numbers to a VoIP CLEC and ran
into an issue that we've seen before but never figured out the cause of.
It seems if you call us and immediately hang up - or if the call is
forwarded by Verizon (which stills rings about ? of one time) the Zhone
detects the ring and answers the call.. The Zhone however DOESN"T detect
that it's no longer

experinental revision of the 'snow' package
A new version of the 'snow' package for parallel computing in R is
available at
http://www.stat.uiowa.edu/~luke/R/cluster/snow_0.3-3.tar.gz
This substantially revises the way in which worker processes are
started to allow snow to be used on Windows and Mac/Windows/Linux
combinations. I have successfully used the SOCK version on a

revoking ssh-cert.pub with serial revokes also younger certs
Hi Daminan!
Hmmm... thought about a little...
when i use -vvv with ssh-keygen -Qf i see "debug1:..." So i think, debug
is compiled in.
ssh-keygen --help gives me
ssh-keygen -k -f krl_file [-u] [-s ca_public] [-z version_number] file ...
so... option -z is not the serial of the certificate, it is the
version-number of the KRL-File...
My openssh-Verision from Debian is

Oggenc ideas / source and request
Hello everybody,
I've put some functions/modifications into the Ogg Vorbis encoder source.
(The new functions are in the first 500 lines of the oggenc.c, some
definitions
are in the oggenc.h)
I hope, you can use it.
Here is the full source (same source on 3 locations):

substitute creates an object which prints incorrectly (PR#9427)
The function "substitute" seems to fail to make a genuine
substitution, although the printed verision seems fine. Here is an
example.

Status of linux 2.6 support
I'm sure that this question gets asked frequently, but a quick perusal
of the list archives shows that it hasn't been asked in a least a month
or so, so pardon any repetition.
What is the current state of asterisk on linux 2.6?
I ask, because I spent yesterday giving it a whirl, and everything
seems to go just fine till the very last minute.
Zaptel, libpri and asterisk compile just

list Searchability
Great points Steve. I think the best we can do is all throw the newbies
a bone ounce in a while. Redirection to the content that is relevant is
enough to get most people on the path. Like you said, the hardest part
is not seeing the trees for the forest.
This is the whole "teach a man to fish" parable.
It is pretty easy to tell someone

Dispersed cluster tune, optimize
Hi all,
I have setup a dispersed cluster (2+1), verision 3.12.
I guessed that we going to get punished by small read/writes...
and I was right.
A calculation that usually takes 48 hours
took about 60 hours and there are many small read/writes
to intermediate files that at the end get summed up.
Is there a way to tune, optimize a dispersed cluster to work
better with small read/writes?

PBX Console
Hi,
I've been looking into the one bad thing about * which is there's no
practical solution to running a console. You know the kind where
you have rows of buttons each representing an extension. You press
the button of the extension you want to transfer the call to, and
it's done.
There's the beginnig of GUI version but it's going to eat resources
for running X which
