Dial command problems
I am still testing Asterisk, but I am running in to a lot of problems. I set up numerous extensions, but Asterisk is not performing to tasks correctly. Here is an example. exten => 231,1,Dial(Zap/g1/231|3) exten => 231,2,Voicemail(u231) exten => 231,3,Hangup When I call in and enter extension 231, my call is routed to the correct extension, but it just keeps ringing. If I change the

Integration with Toshiba Strata DK424
I'm posting here in case anyone else runs into this and needs some help. I'll probably update the voip-info Wiki pages on Toshiba integration in a bit. Asterisk 1.6 makes things a bit easier than what is on that page. I'm integrating an Asterisk server with a Toshiba Strata system at my office. Right now, it is driving some VoIP phones (Cisco ATAs with analog phones plugged into

Legacy Toshiba Phones
I found some postings from Google (notably from Mark Spencer) about successful integration of a legacy Toshiba Strata system and Asterisk. I am also facing that current dilemma. The general legacy solutions that I can come up with is very easy -- either making Asterisk a "proxy" (or frontdoor) to the Toshiba system, or have it operate behind the Toshiba via regular extensions. I'm

Toshiba DK - Asterisk Integration
Hi All, I am new to both Asterisk and PBX stuff. I have 3 Tohiba PBXs in 3 separate offices as follows, Toshiba Strata dk28 Toshiba Strata dk280 Toshiba Strata dk8 I need to install 3 Asterisk servers in these 3 locations and integrate them with each of the Toshiba PBX s. This is to give IP Phones/soft phones to the users and to route these VOIP calls through the PBX to POTS. What are the

Integrating with Toshiba Strata DK40i KSU
We've done a direct swap of an old Amanda voicemail system with a shiney new Asterisk system (Asterisk 1.0.9). The system consists of 4 FXO ports on the * box (TDM400P), and three old Wildcards we aren't using (too buggy we found). CO lines-> Toshiba -> FXO ports on * We want to branch out a little more and use it as an auto-attendant. The first problem seems to be an asterisk

Toshiba DK424 / Asterisk / DTMF problems
I have a Toshiba DK424 connected via T1 E&M to a TE110P card. Intermittently when a user dials a number I am getting 'getdtmf' errors on the Ast server and the calls do not go through. If they dial the number once or twice more, it works fine and I receive no DTMF problems. On another note, end users are complaining about intermittent disconnects. T1 is ESF/B8ZS - 24 chan. Other

Legacy Toshiba integration
I have recently changed jobs and I now have to administer a Toshiba DK424. I would like to integrate Asterisk with this Toshiba PBX. I am quite familiar with Asterisk but I have absolutely no idea about this Toshiba. To make matters worse the manuals for this system are missing. What I would like to do is place Asterisk in such a way that we can extend the Voicemail boxes and possibly add a few

Connecting Asterisk to a Toshiba Strata system
I'm interested in setting up Asterisk as a voice mail system for our Toshiba Strata CTX100 PBX. Our current voice mail system connects to the PBX with four analog extensions. Does anyone have information on how to integrate this kind of system with Asterisk? I've looked at the legacy integration section of the Wiki, but it doesn't seem to have anything about Toshiba systems. ---

Adit Asterisk Cabling Connundrum.
I am hoping to replace my Nortel 8x24 switch with Asterisk. Right now my cabling comes from my outside phone box into my office and into a punchdown block and leaves the punchdown block as an amphenol connector which currently plugs into the Nortel swicth. A second amphenol connector them plugs into the switch and extends to another punchdown block that I believe carries the lines throughout the

Asterisk + NEC Electra Elite IPK Integration
Hi, I'm am currently in the process of trying to integrate an * box with an NEC Electra Elite IPK. Currently, we have 7 POTS lines coming into our building. These lines are plugged into our NEC using the appropriate analog line interface card from NEC. The NEC effectively has NO configuration done to it, other than to make all the internal phones ring when a call comes in. We also

Help - is voip good for in-house calls?
Hi there everyone! I work at an office where we plant to have about 12-15 phone extensions. Costs of PBX are cheaper, but they are not expandable and, as the office is brand new, I want to use all modern stuff. My question is: if I buy 12-15 Grandstream Budgetone 101 phones, and install and asterisk server, as well as a Digium TDM400 for POTS access, will I have the same voice quality and

Fax/Modem, Asterisk, Channel Banks
I've been replacing an old Toshiba DK switch with an Asterisk solution. I'm needing a solution for fax machines that works as well as a POTS line from my carrier. If the POTS line is the solution, I'll keep it, but I'd rather move away from that. Here's what I'm thinking...will it work? I would use a dual-port Digium T1 card. In one port, I'd terminate a telco PRI

No rings before auto attendant
Hi all, been searching & not finding an answer to this, although I'm guessing it's absurdly simple... I just hooked up a T1 to our * box (1.2.0), which had been using POTS lines via a channel bank.. Now when I call the new T1 circuit, there are no rings, the Autoattendant just picks up right away.. Any clue on how to make it ring twice before getting picked up? I tried immedate=no and

X100P questions
Hello! I've been following this list for several weeks now and would like to purchase some hardware for a VOIP/ voice-mail solution. This card appears strikingly similar to a modem. Is it? Is there a product to bring in more than one POTS line short of a full T1? It just seems silly that the technology hasn't advanced any further than to have a single line per card. Any thought

"ring splash"
Something new to me. Recently installed a 1.4.30 box for a small office with four POTS lines in a hunt (Digium TDM410P). Had the telco put a "call forward" option on the main line of the hunt. They dial a feature code from their desk phones (Polycom IP450) that results in forwarding the main number to our VoIP service. This is all to let them "try out" our dialtone

FXS card dial digit wrong
Hello, everyone, I am currently trying to get the asterisk server to talk with a 3COM NBX with T1 connection. My asterisk server has a T100p, TDM20B, a couple of sip phones. Now the sip phones are calling 3COM NBX phones fine, however, the analog phone has problem when dialing the NBX phones. The connection is established and the NBX auto-attendant picks up the call however the NBX end says that

Changing contexts "on the fly"
Hi folks, I've been playing around with an Asterisk server in my office for a few weeks now, and I've got it pretty much nailed down the way I want it, which is nice. One of the features I'm using is the ability to switch different contexts in & out of the dialplan on a schedule. So, for example, I've got the "official" tel number ringing my desk phone between
