ztdummy running, but moh & meetme don't work
Any thoughts on the following?
I am running asterisk from CVS (downloaded yesterday's
version, just to be sure) on a test system with no
digium cards in it, so I have installed ztdummy (see
logs and screenshots below) as a timing source.
When I call the music on hold extension from a Sipura
Sip connected analog phone, I hear nothing and start
getting

Fwd: Asterisk on Solaris 10 (AMD Opteron, Sun Fire X2100)
Hello all,
I really appreciate the replies I've gotten about this so far
(especially the support for wanting to run it on Solaris!).
The core issue seems to have been missed, though -- is there any way
to run a complete Asterisk solution on Solaris 10 (including
music-on-hold and conferencing)? This probably comes down to a few issues:

MOH distorted voice in Native and MP3 format
Hello,
I have been facing an issue that voice is getting distorted sometimes in MOH
(MusicOnHold) application.
I have checked and confirmed that lame is properly installed, even tried
native formats (ulaw, alaw, gsm), but the randomly seen distortion in MOH
can't be eliminated.
I came to know about requirement of timing device for MOH and MeetMe and a

ztdummy and MOH
Hi All,
I have installed Asterisk 1.4.2 and have loaded ztdummy as I have no
Digium cards. The problem I have is that MOH will not play. It starts
and then stops.

ztdummy
The USB core was completely rewritten in 2.6, and as such the functions
that ztdummy depends on do
not exist in 2.6. I get the feeling that these changes are too much to
easily fix ztdummy, so I don't
expect to see it working on 2.6 any time soon (if ever)
I made some small changes to zaprtc to work on 2.6 and I have MoH and
Meetme functions working
fine in my lab. For production I would

ztdummy does not load properly at server startup
Hi
I run asterisk 1.4.2 with zaptel 1.4.1.
Zaptel is only needed for the ztdummy driver to get the Meetme()
application to work. I don't have any specific hardware.
And it does work nicely. When I reboot the machine however I have to
manually load the driver like this:
[root@vink ~]# modprobe ztdummy

Music On Hold distorted
I have searching the forums here on how to get Music On Hold working
and I have been able to get * to accept a command for MusicOnHold
and for Meetme after loading the ztdummy module. I used the default
config for /etc/zaptel.conf since I saw no guidance on this. My problem
now is that when I activate MusicOnHold, the sample music file sounds
very slow and distorted. My best guess is that it is

Ztdummy - is it requirement?
I am interested to learn if I need to have ztdummy installed if I do not
have any zaptel hardware in my machine?
I have found a lot of references with RTP problems which were related to
RTP timing (or lack of it).
My problem is that voice coming from SIP hardware is OK, but voice going
from asterisk to SIP hardware is choppy, full of noise or completely
cut-off. Am I going to solve my problem

ztdummy on Fedora Core 2
I followed the Wiki instructions to get zaptel to work on Fedora core 2.
It looked like everything went perfect including the loading of ztdummy.
However, I am having meetme and MOH problems synonymous with ztdummy not
loading. Take a look at my lsmod...Any ideas? (I am running stable

Ztdummy not loaded
I was having problems with conferencing when I found a list which
suggested that ztdummy might not be loaded. I checked using lsmod and
sure enough it was not loaded. When trying to load ztdummy I get an
error saying "Can't locate module ztdummy".
I am using Asterisk CVS-09/13/03-23:21:19
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Chad

ztdummy/rtc
Hello,
Maybe I'm missing something here. What is the proper way to use RTC
with ztdummy now?
I'm using -HEAD from a day or two ago on Linux 2.6.11.11.
In zaptel/Makefile, I changed CFLAGS to:
CFLAGS+=-I. -O4 -g -Wall -DBUILDING_TONEZONE -DUSE_RTC
#-DTONEZONE_DRIVER
and I get..
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.11.11/build SUBDIRS=/usr/src/zaptel modules

distorted native music on hold
Hello,
Using asterisk-1.2.1 I am trying to convert my music-on-hold files from
.wav to alaw:
% sox moh.wav -r 8000 -c 1 moh.al resample -ql
The file sounds fine when listened with:
% sox mox.al -t ossdsp /dev/dsp
But when listened through asterisk with an alaw SIP phone the sound is
clicky and too fast.
Did I forget something in my conversion command?

Does X100P clone provide Timer?
Does anyone know if the X100P clone cards provide the timer needed to
run MOH and the Conferencing service? I have no need for a T1 card, but
I'm running asterisk on a dual processor machine with the wrong kind of
USB devices, so none of the dummy timers will work for me.
Also, I'm running Asterisk@Home (2.4 Kernel). Anyone know if upgrade to
the 2.6 kernel will allow me to use the

Ztdummy or Zaptel card on production server
Hi there
I am currently using Asterisk with Meetme on a 2.4 linux kernel. I am using
Ztdummy with usb-uhci driver for timing. It seems to work ok, although I
haven't tried it with more than 5 users. However, I am now looking to move
into a production environment and some people have said that it is better to
have a Zaptel card. I would be installing Asterisk on a 2.6 linux kernel for

G729/MOH Quality
Does anyone have any opinions on the music on hold quality over G729?
The stock files seem to sound terrible over it, this is enhanced further
by calls coming from the PSTN via a Zaptel gateway. I am only using the
stock wav files and have not attempted to use much else so far.
I've ruled out timing issues on the system generating the MOH itself

modprobe Ztdummy is not working
Hi,
I've install zaptel and I don't have a Digium card installed in the machine.
So I want to install ztdummy to have Music On Hold working. I've follow
these instruction http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+timer+ztdummy and
at the point "modprobe ztdummy" it's failing. I'm getting these messages:

MusicOnHold Loudness/Distortion
For whatever reason, the music on hold is extremely distorted and
loud. It didn't used to be this way and I haven't changed anything,
yet it persists. This is on all the channels we use (SIP, IAX2, Zap,
ALSA). Can anyone help with this, or has anyone seen this? The mp3s
play fine on any computer and haven't changed since they did work.

Unable to transfer external calls to MeetMe conference
I have a peculiar situation, and am hoping someone on the list can offer
assistance. I am running CVS HEAD, and am using ITSPs for DIDs. The server
has no Zap hardware, but is configured to use ztdummy. All incoming calls
are via IAX2.
Calls ring to SIP phones, voice mail, IVR, etc., with no trouble. I am also
able to transfer calls among my SIP devices, voice mail, IVR, etc. All of
