Distinctive ring confusion
I am somewhat unsure as to the definition of "Distinctive Ring". What I am trying to achieve is to have Zap connected phones (TDM400P) ring with different cadences depending on whether the call is incoming on the PSTN context or an IAX2 context. Googling, I find this from Mark: I've added distinctive ring support to Asterisk now (also I've added answer confirmation which is

X100P clone dial problems.
I'm not sure if I have a configuration problem or not. I am unable to dial out. When I try to dial in I can hear the phone ring on the dialling phone but Asterisk does not register anything. In zaptel.conf I have loadzone = au defaultzone=au fxsks=1 In zapata.conf language=au context=from-pstn When I do: zap show channels I get: Chan Extension Context Language

X100P in Australia
G'Day, I need from regarding using the X100P. Some are specific to Australia and I have been told in IRC there are already existing users in oz, so I would appreciate your input. 1) Is the X100P Australia telco approved? 2) I have setup asterisk with X100P and whenever I dial in I cannot get any callerid information. Is this standard behaviour? If not how have other australian users managed

Sending DTMF to PSTN problem with SIP
Dear All ~ I have * setup & running ok (with two Wildcard X100P's to PSTN). I also have two analog phones connected into same through a SIPURA 2000. These work fine, except that when I call out through PSTN & try to send DTMF tones to (say) a remote PBX to dial an extension, the gain seems to go wild (high), and the DTMF tones are not recognized at the other end. I tried setting the

How to make an X100P answer only one distinctive ring cadence?
Hi All... Is it possible to cause asterisk to answer some distinctive ring patterns but not others? I have a POTS line plugged into an X100P and I would like * to ignore one ring cadence that is answered by a fax machine. How would I do that? Thanks...

chan_sccp/SEP<mac>.cnf.xml
HI all: I have spent a large amount of time configuring/installing phones connected to Asterisk. Halfway through the process I discovered that my Cisco7960 with 2 7914 expansions was not supported in the SIP protocol. After reverting to SCCP 6.0(4.0) I am now perplexed with the hassle of configuring SCCP to properly work with Asterisk. So far I have gotten the phone to dial and receive calls

Has anyone got * working with Xten soft phones
I have tried loads of configurations but I cannot get it to work. I basically have three computers and want to use soft phones on two of them to connect to asterisk so I can use them instead of dialling into my X100P card as the phone bill is getting bigger. I assume that I can configure * to accept calls from the soft phones and then route them according to my dial plan. I am basically trying

Help please
Hi, My PBX/key system failed when building power was switched off and then back on. The service rep says the PBX unit is so old that it is not repairable. The unit has 8 incoming POTS lines and 12 multiline sets. There are voice mailboxes on each line. Switching to Qwest's Centrex system would cost about $3800/yr. My 8 business lines now cost $3320/yr, so the Centrex increment would

problems with analog interface to PBX
Folks, For the last few days I've been trying to experiment with a Panasonic PBX and an X100P but have run into quite a few problems which I am not sure if they can be solved with this type of card (how about TDM01B?) 1) I wanted to use *'s IVR capabilities, so I routed the calls to the extension where the x100p was connected to. Asterisk should answer the call, playback a message,

Pass-thru port on X100P Clone
I am using 2 X100P clone cards in my asterisk system, and have one phone line plugged into the 'line' port of each card. On one of the cards, I also have a cable plugged into the 'phone' port and this cable is then connected to the modem on my PC so that I can use it for dial-up. I thought that this would then allow me to do dial-up and at the same time it would lock the port so

Autodetecting faxes
I have managed to get spandsp working, and if I dial a specific extension I can receive faxes. WhooHoo. However, I was wanting to use the "fax detect" option in order to allow individuals to receive faxes, but can't get that to work. Given the following extensions (mainly copied from examples on the wiki), why is the call simply passed onto the sip device rather than being

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've got a system set up like: POTS <-----> Asterisk 1 <-----> Asterisk 2 <-----> IAXComm The POTS line is connected to "asterisk 1" via an X100P card and "asterisk 1" is connected to "asterisk 2" via ethernet. With incoming calls from the POTS line, everything works, but between 5 and 10

X100P Manually Answer
I have an X100P used, at present, largely for outgoing calls. It shares the single incoming POTS line with a number of analog phones. Is it possible to talk the X100P (Zap/1) to answer a ringing call only if I ask it to? I'd like to use only the SIP phone in my office, but let the analog phones continue to work in the rest of the house (until I can afford FXS cards anyway..) I can force

Looking for new hardware
Hi. I gave up with the IBM NetFinity, so I'm going to buy new hardware. I'm going to install: 1-)One X100P (1 FXO module) 2-)One TDM03B (3 FXO modules) I'll have the 4 FXO channels busy almost all the time, and I would like quality to be as good as possible without going to the high-level hardware. I would like to learn of some tested configurations (I've heard of problems

softphone has problem to call out via X100P card
Hi all, I have the Asterisk set up and 2 softphone (Xlite) set up on two other PC. With the following configuration, I can use one softphone (2000) to call the other one (2001) and/or the voicemail at 2999. Here is my problem: 1. When I dial 9+nxxx-xxxx with one of the softphone to the PSTN via X100P card, I got busy tone. (i.e. I want to use the phone line which is connected to the

Can't get x100p to answer the phone
Hi, I've got an x100P and I'm able to dial out and make phone calls with it ok but I just want to set it up to answer the phone and be a simple answering machine but it doesn't seem to want to answer the phone. x100p / Answer-> Flash -> Dial
I have an X100P connected to an extension of a Panasonic PBX. When a call from the PSTN comes in, it is routed directly to the extension where the x100p is . I want * to answer the call, play a message and then transfer the call to another extension via the Zap channel where the call was received (I need to flash the zap channel) . If this extension doesn't answer I want then to dial an IAX
