how to cancel new recorded message from voicemail menu?
Hi!
If a user has recorded a new voicemail message (e.g. unavailable
message) then it is prompted with 3 choices.
1. accept recording
2. listen to the recorded message
3. rerecord the message
Isn't it possible to cancel the recording?
thanks

0 out of voicemail to different secretaries
Is it possible to configure * so that if a caller reaches voicemail for
someone in Engineering, but doesn't want to leave a message they can
press zero (0) and reach the Engineering Secretary or if they are
calling someone in Accounting and reach voicemail, pressing '0' would
reach the Accounting secretary, not the Engineering secretary?

Comedian Voicemail Issues
Hello,
I have set up Comedian Mail on my Asterisk system.
I am using Voicemail not Voicemail2 in my extensions.conf file.
The system works great except for 1 thing...It is not possible to create
custom unavailable or greeting messages for 3/4 voicemail boxes.
For some odd reason 3/4 users are unable to modify the default voicemail
prompt with their own custom greeting. The greeting gets

Comedian Mail User Guide
Is there a user guide for Comedian Mail? I need to give some training
materials to my end users.
So far, I have been unable to find anything through google or the Digium
site.
THanks,

modem to modem calls through asterisk
Modem connect speeds on calls through * seem to be lower than calls
made through the telephone company lines or our old Rolm PBX. All data
calls have 2 wire analog modems on both ends.
For my set up I have channels of a Zhone channel bank tied to 2 modems.
The Zhone channel bank interfaces my * server with a T400P card.

choppy recorded sounds in asterisk
I have installed asterisk on numerous servers. Every install was done on
Fedora and (White box Linux). I now have zap channels in one of the
boxes (T-1). No matter what type of channel I call on (sip or zap) I get
some really strange artifacts in the sound, almost like a skip in the
playback. It seems to always be in about the same place in the
recording. Usually in the beginning of playback. For

IMAP Voicemail -- HELP! Asterisk not playing Greeting!
I'm using Asterisk 1.4.13, the latest released version. The linux platform
is FC7.
I setup my Asterisk server to use IMAP storage. Dovecot is the IMAP
server. Its storing messages perfectly--no problems.
I should also mention that I'm using MySQL for real-time configuration.
That must be working (at least partially), because I can authenticate v.
the voicemail table.
However, the

ADSI -- is it dead? Worth bothering with?
Since Colin Anderson -- in a previous thread -- asked the question about
whether ADSI was dead, I thought it was worth discussing.
We've been using Nortel Vista 350s in our office up until now. The
phones are from Telus, I don't know if there's any way to unlock them.
It would appear Telus hasn't done much in the way of updating software
for these phones; or if they have, they

Recording interface (pause/PLAY/RERECORD)
Is there a prebuild module/dialplan which gives me a nice interface to recording messages? Assuming I can't use the voicemail command, I need to offer users a way to record, playback, erase, rerecord, etc.
I can probably do it through dialplan but it feels like I'm reinventing the wheel.
Thanks,

Voicemail - direct call
Hi list!
How to send a call directly to voicemail recording?
When I put this
exten => 313,n,VoiceMail,u221
Or this
exten => 313,n,VoiceMail,b221
In my dial plan, calling person first hears greeting message (busy or unviable). I would like to avoid greeting message (I would play something with Playback application). Is it possible?

pulling my hair out over voicemail
Ok, I have spent all night trying to figure this out, and hopefully
somebody has a similar experience.
I have a very basic asterisk config. Sample configs, with the only
addition being by SIP phone, and my incoming voip. Last week I got
everything setup, calls were working, etc.,.
I cam across a tutorial for voicemail, followed it, and it worked. When
I call my phone and dont answer, it goes

Playing a message if my call lands in their voicemail
Hi All,
My client makes manual sales calls to prospects. He is often sent to
voicemail on the prospect's side. If he finds himself having to leave a
message, he would like to be able to press a key and let a pre-recorded
message play into the prospect's vmail box. This is so he can maintain
consistency in his message. Can anyone offer suggestions of how I could
accomplish this

Voicemail feature: enable or disable the ability to leave a message
Hi,
I think there is an essential option of the Voicemail application that
is missing.
I would like to suggest the implementation of a function to give the
user the ability to either allow or disallow the recording of messages.
If the ability to record a message is disabled, options u, s, and b must
not be considered in order to avoid the playback of messages such as

Intercepting DTMF to initiate Voice Drop
Hi,
I'm trying to implement a Voice Drop service within Asterisk
dial-plan. The service is supposed to work as following:
1. A initiates a call to B
2. The call is answered by B's answering machine
3. A hears the answering machine's greeting and the recording beep
4. A speaks a few words into the recording to personalize the message
5. A presses some DTMF keys (say, '##') to

VoiceMail customizing
Hello
We would like to customize the voicemail menues.
So the intro should not be played if some user has recorded an own greeting
message and we would also like to remove some options from the menue.
Is this all hardcoded or is it somehow possible to redefine the voice menues
and the order how messages are played via voicemail.conf?

Outbound paging dialplan example?
Due to changes at the office, I'm finally getting around to setting up
an AA to deal with incoming calls. One of the big changes is that we're
dropping the old alphanumeric pager and will just send pages to our
phones. I've got the outbound greeting message working in a test
context no problem right now, but I'm kind of stuck on how to capture a
DTMF sequence from a user and

AsteriskNOW 1.5 - app_voicemail_imapstorage.so won't talk to IMAP server
I'm having some issues getting app_voicemail_imapstorage to talk to my
IMAP server. From imapstorage.txt, I've got the voicemail.conf
configured properly, but if I leave a voicemail for extension 9999, I
see no indication that the module is trying to reach the IMAP server.
What am I missing?

Voicemail 0 for operator call routing
Does anyone know of a way to specify what extension is dialed when 0 is
pressed in the voicemail system. I have a situation where there is more
than one secretary and they want the 0 to redirect to the appropriate
secretary for the two groups of people.
So an example would be:
555-1234 -> voicemail -> Secretary 1
555-1235 -> voicemail -> Secretary 2
Any help would be greatly
