Traffic Modelling (was IVR only system with scalibility...)
The question was posed: "incomming calls for 45 or so people that will call in 3 or 4 time each day during (approx) normal business hours" The comment was made (taken out of context): "The quick math says that 45 people with 4 calls is 180 calls a day. Is there a way to have two streams played to the caller at the same time: for instance, one constant flow of background music, and the IVR contents at the same time? I've looked for solutions using (E)AGI and other things but nothing seems to work. Googling around and reading the list has not been helpful either... Thanks for your help,

Caller id and the number of rings
Hi all, I have the following setup PSTN -> ASTERISK -> IVR (using dialogic card) 1) Caller id information is presented to asterisk during the first and second ring. 2) Hence, Asterisk waits for 2 rings before pickup the call and forwarding to the appropriate FXS port. 3) The IVR application also waits for 2 rings before picking up the call to get the caller id. 4) Hence any caller
